Last updated: 14.05.2019 This is a “Travel like the locals” tour. The tours use public transport, i.e. regular buses, ferries and boats, but we have done the planning for you so that you can concentrate on enjoying your trip. You travel on your own - there is no guide or tour leader. On most of our tours you must change several times between different buses/ferries/boats, and it is up to you to make sure you catch your connections – truly travelling like a local! (The tours are set up so that the buses, ferries and boats connect.) Round Trip to Folgefonna National Park Voss - Odda - Sundal - Utne - Kvanndal - Voss Travel along the famous Hardangerfjord and on the Norwegian scenic route of Hardanger. Enjoy the views from the bus as it passes fjords, mountains and waterfalls, and the crossing of the Hardanger Bridge, which is among the longest suspension bridges in the world. Odda, a scenic place surrounded by the fjord, will be your first stop on your travel. Stretch your legs and choose from a variety of activities, such as a culture walk or a hike along the river. Visit the Tourist Information. A fantastic hike awaits you at Sundal, taking you to through Bondhusdalen valley and Folgefonna National Park. You will find information boards at the starting point of the hike, situated 500 metres from the bus stop. Walk on the gravel road and enjoy the spectacular nature (the hike can also be done in winter, unless there is too much snow). A bus returns to Odda after the hike.

For an easy and comfortable way to get to your hotel in central Bergen, we are happy to arrange a private transfer for you. Here, you will find the old wharf of Bryggen—a UNESCO World Heritage site, centuries-old houses, a vibrant fish and flower market and an interesting range of museums. For a good overview of Bergen, take the one-hour “mini-train” sightseeing tour through city centre, including such sights as Maria Church, the Rosenkrantz Tower and King Håkon’s Hall as well as a panoramic view of the city from Fjellveien Road. If you arrive early, we recommend getting the Bergen Card, which provides free travel on all public transport, free admission to museums and sites and discounts on other attractions, sightseeing tours, restaurants and shops. Spend the night in Bergen. Attractions: Bergen DAY 2 DAY 2: BEGIN YOUR FJORD ADVENTURE TODAY Collect your rental car in the morning in Bergen and start your self-drive into the Norwegian countryside. Enjoy the day as you drive toward the scenic Hardangerfjord, the second longest fjord in Norway. The fjord is famous for its fertile ground, and the mountainsides are home to plenty of apple trees. In the spring, the trees are in full bloom but if you are travelling during the late summer or early autumn, you will need to stop at one of the fruit selling booths, and buy some fresh apples! You will then head to Norheimsund, where we recommend making a stop at Steindalsfossen – where you can walk behind the wondrous waterfall.

Take a walk on the wild side and discover why the locals can’t get enough of nature. After a long winter, people of all age groups and social backgrounds head outdoors and go trekking in the mountains, along the coast, fjords or in the forests. The varied scenery, from popular marked trails and tourist attractions to wild and untamed mythical landscapes, has earned Norway a well-deserved reputation as a major hiking destination in Europe. You will meet a kind and proud people who will enthusiastically share with you their love of the mountains. Norway shares a common border with Sweden on the east and in the north with Finland and Russia. Less than 4% of the Norway’s land is cultivated, leaving 96% as a playground for the outdoor enthusiast. The population density of Norway is the lowest of any country in Europe, where most of the 4 ½ million Norwegians live along the southern coast. We will start our adventure in Norway’s second largest city, the western coastal town of Bergen. As a university town and cultural center, it boasts a plethora of museums as well as several theatres and a renowned philharmonic orchestra. Set on a peninsula surrounded by seven mountains, Bergen’s history is closely tied to the sea. Hiking between Mount Ulriken and Mount Fløyen with Bergen below Our first whole day in Bergen we will have the opportunity, depending on the weather, to hike between Mount Ulriken and Mount Fløyen, on a high plateau with spectacular views of Bergen below.
