Snipping Tool Overview The Snipping Tool provides a way to capture images from your display screen and imbed them in documents you develop. This is especially useful in Histopathology lab, since it allows you to take notes in OneNote which contain annotated images from Aperio ImageScope slides. It is important to understand there are two different versions of the screen capture features available to users of Windows and Office 2010. It is worth noting that you can adjust the size of an image pasted into Microsoft Word (like this document) in two important ways. 1. To begin with the Clipping Tool, first run OneNote.

From here, you select a portion of the screen by dragging a rectangle with your pen (or mouse).

The Snipping Tool copies your selection to the clipboard and shows the image in a new page in the Unfiled Notes section of OneNote.

Here is the Snipping Tool application and its Options menu. You can drag the Snipping tool to the Quick Launch Toolbar for easy access. Open the Start menu and type “Snip” to find the program.
