Vóór het optreden geeft McCartney een exclusief interview aan Ronald Verhaegen van Radio 1 vanuit zijn limousine van de luchthaven (Deurne) naar de concertzaal. Tijdens het interview praat hij onder andere over het schilderij van René Magritte als inspiratie voor het Apple label. Drie luisteraars van Radio 1 worden backstage getrakteerd op een' meet and greet' met Paul. De negenenzestig jarige McCartney bouwt een feestje van 3uur. Jong en oud zijn verzameld in een uitverkocht sportpaleis. McCartney ziet er verrassend fit en enthousiast uit en is erg goed bij stem. Met dezelfde groep als 9 jaar geleden speelt hij de pannen van het dak. Pure klasse. 'Alles kits achter de rits?' vraagt hij een paar keer. Blijkbaar was het Liliane St.Pierre die hem deze zin backstage had ingefluisterd . Liliane had namelijk een backstage pasje via gemeenschappelijke vrienden van de echtgenote van Paul. 'Ik heb dit liedje geschreven voor mijn vriend John' zegt hij vóór Here Today. Voor het eerst horen we hem in België typische Lennon nummers zingen zoals A Day in the Life, Give Peace A Chance, All You Need Is Love. Eén van de hoogtepunten: I've Got A Feeling, Let me Roll it, The Word. Het is het voorlaatste concert van zijn Europese tournee. De dag erna speelt hij in de Royal Albert Hall in Londen. Take It Away (promotional film) The filming of the promotional video for 'Take It Away' took place at EMI's Elstree Studios in Boreham Wood and was directed by John MacKenzie. Six hundred members of the Wings Fun Club were invited along as a live audience to the filming, which took place on Wednesday 23 June 1982. The band comprised Paul on bass, Eric Stewart on lead, George Martin on electric piano, Ringo and Steve Gadd on drums, Linda on tambourine and the horn section from the Q Tips. In between the various takes of 'Take It Away' Paul and his band played several numbers to entertain the audience, including 'Lucille', 'Bo Diddley', 'Peggy Sue', 'Send Me Some Lovin", 'Twenty Flight Rock', 'Cut Across Shorty', 'Reeling And Rocking', 'Searching' and 'Hallelujah I Love Her So'.     1 Playlist April 17th 2016 9AM The Beatles - A Hard Day’s Night - A Hard Day’s Night (Lennon-McCartney) Lead vocal: John with Paul The Beatles’ seventh single release for EMI’s Parlophone label. The title is a Ringoism, coined by the drummer sometime in 1963 and used by John in his book “In His Own Write.” With the film nearly completed the last bit of business was to give the film a name. The project was being filmed with the working title “Beatlemania.” On April 13, 1964 The Beatles met with key personnel from the studio and bounced title ideas. It was felt they’d find no better suggestion than Ringo’s off- hand remark “it’s been a hard day’s night” and John volunteered to write the title song that evening. The next morning he brought the song in and taught it to Paul. Paul cleaned up the middle section and the two played it for producer Walter Shenson. Two days later The Beatles would formally record the song. It was a rarity for an outsider to be allowed in the studio or control booth while The Beatles rehearsed and recorded. An exception was made for the director of the “A Hard Day’s Night” film, Richard Lester. Lester was in the control booth and offered many suggestions during the morning while this key song was worked out, much to the dismay of producer George Martin. It was Lester’s suggestion that the song open dramatically (as it would open the film), and fade out at the end in a cinematic way.
