Summary

This month has seen a small spate of burglaries across the Farnborough area. Police are still investigating at this time but urge local residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour.

If you have a UPVC front door, please ensure it is double locked whenever the house is empty and overnight. It’s also a good idea to ensure any residents that have a CCTV system at home ensure it is working correctly, especially with Halloween on the horizon.

Community Priority Updates

1- Theft of pedal cycles – We continue to have a few reports of theft of pedal cycle. These reports are still vastly below previous levels and not unexpected.

2- Theft from motor vehicles - This priority has remained very low level as with last month. Police are conducting high visibility patrols whenever possible to act as a deterrent.

Summary

You may have noticed an increase in emergency vehicles parked in the town centre this month, with Little Wellington Street being closed off to the public. Please do not be alarmed as you may have also noticed they were accompanied by vans from Pinewood Studios and Little Wellington Street will be open again soon.

We are pleased to say that two of our prolific street drinkers have been imprisoned for various offences giving the community approximately 26 weeks of respite.

We have already noticed a reduction in alcohol related Anti -Social Behaviour (ASB) and are continuing to work hard to reduce it further.

Following a recent meeting with Rushmoor Borough Council there are no confirmed street homeless in Aldershot at this time. Anyone posing as homeless in Aldershot is likely to already be receiving support from local charitable agencies, supported housing and the Government. We urge you not to allow these people to take advantage of your good nature.

Finally as the darker nights draw in everyone should take extra precautions and stay vigilant during the evening and early mornings. As ever if you see anything suspicious contact us on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
