ANNEX A Business Events Pipeline Singapore Airshow 2010 (February 2010) Singapore Airshow is Asia’s largest aerospace and defence event, as well as one of the top three air shows in the world. Singapore Airshow attracts top international aviation players such as ST Engineering, BAE Systems, The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin and Rolls-Royce International. The 2008 Singapore Airshow, which showcased the latest innovation in the aviation and defence technologies, sealed more than US$13.4 billion worth of trade deals and attracted 30,000 trade visitors and over 90,000 public visitors. The 2010 event is expected to attract over 15,000 international visitors and exhibitors. For more information, please visit www.singaporeairshow.com International Conference on Teaching and Learning with Technology (March 2010) Hosted jointly by the Singapore Ministry of Education and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), this biennial premier event attracts the participation of policy-makers, academics, innovative practitioners and school leaders from across the Asia-Pacific Region and around the world. The conference will feature a lineup of renowned speakers, as well as a program that comprises workshops, interactive learning trails to Chinatown, HortPark and Sungei Buloh, as well as school visits which showcase innovative Information Communications Technology / Interactive Digital Media (ICT/IDM)- enabled pedagogical approaches that support learning and teaching in Singapore’s schools. For more information, please visit www.ictlt.com International Furniture Fair Singapore 2010 / 27th ASEAN Furniture Show (IFFS/AFS 2010) (March 2010) The International Furniture Fair Singapore, held in conjunction with the ASEAN Furniture Show (IFFS/AFS) began in 1981 and has since grown to be regarded by industry experts as Asia's most prestigious furniture trade show. IFFS/AFS provides an effective marketing platform for regional companies to venture into global markets. As a testimony to the quality of the show, IFFS/AFS is the first Asian-based international furniture fair to be accepted as a member of the elite Union des Foires Internationales, a Paris-based international authority on trade fairs. IFFS/AFS 2009 attracted 15,606 trade visitors from 118 countries, with a total of 104 overseas buying delegations from 38 different countries and achieved an estimated total of US$245 million in spot orders. Junior Chamber International (JCI) Asia Pacific Conference (ASPAC) (May 2010) Mandarin Junior Chamber Singapore is an organisation affiliated to Junior Chamber International (JCI). The Singapore chapter will be hosting the JCI Asia Pacific Conference (ASPAC) in Singapore in the year 2010. ASPAC is an annual event of Junior Chamber International that provides a platform for members in the Asia Pacific region to learn, share and discuss ideas that contribute to the development of Junior Chamber organisations. ASPAC conducts seminars, workshops and group discussions for JCI members, and the preliminary theme of the 2010 event focuses on matching people, minds and ideas to strengthen the mission and vision of Junior Chamber organisations. Singapore 2010 is a new international event for the performing arts industry incorporating both a ground-breaking conference and an international trade-fair to be held at Resorts World Singapore for the first time from 8 to 11 June, 2010. The inaugural event in 2010 will bring together leading performing artists, practitioners, managers, producers, agents and executives of the live performing arts and entertainment industries in three days of intensive and inspiring meetings, break-out sessions and discussions panels and breath-taking live performances. The aim of LIVE! Sound Light Visual (June 2010) Sound Light Visual Expo is a niche exhibition offering one-stop audio, visual, lighting and staging solutions for the commercial market. ICEM is expected to see the largest gathering of opinion leaders and industry giants, creating a platform for scientific and international networking.
