It is part of the formal attire or regalia prominent to a Sultan, King or the Yang DiPertuan Besar in Tanah Melayu states with a monarchy reign. As such, the tengkolok has been classified as a three-dimensional work of art. The objective of this research is to analyses the tengkolok as a magnificent piece of Malay art. This analysis is performed based on the available designs of the tengkolok derived from the Malay Sultanate in Malaysia. To illustrate this, the author uses a qualitative method of data collection in the form of writing. Results obtained showed that the tengkolok is a sublime creation of art by the Malays. This beauty is reflected in its variety of names and designs. The name and design of this headdress has proved that the Malays in Malaysia have a high degree of creativity in the creation of the tengkolok. -

Social life and occupational activities of the different ethnic groups formed the two main spines of how different the inhabitants’ garments would be. This study developed and demonstrated a step-by-step conceptual framework of narrative analysis. Turkish literature (Turkish: Türk edebiyatı or Türk yazını) comprises both oral compositions and written texts in the Turkish language, either in its Ottoman form or in less exclusively literary forms, such as that spoken in the Republic of Turkey today. The Ottoman Turkish language, which forms the basis of much of the written corpus, was influenced by Persian and Arabic and used the Ottoman Turkish alphabet. The history of the broader Turkic literature spans a period of nearly 1,300 years. The oldest extant records of written Turkic are the Orhon inscriptions, found in the Orhon River valley in central Mongolia and dating to the 7th century. Subsequent to this period, between the 9th and 11th centuries, there arose among the nomadic Turkic peoples of Central Asia a tradition of oral epics, such as the Book of Dede Korkut of the Oghuz Turks—the linguistic and cultural ancestors of the modern Turkish people—and the Manas epic of the Kyrgyz people. Beginning with the victory of the Seljuks at the Battle of Manzikert in the late 11th century, the Oghuz Turks began to settle in Anatolia, and in addition to the earlier oral traditions there arose a written literary tradition issuing largely—in terms of themes, genres, and styles— from Arabic and Persian literature. -

With this, this articleis written to document in further detail the binders of the Malay-inherited tengkolok especiallyin the state of Perak DarulRidzuan. Some questions need to be answered, such as ‘who arethe tengkolok binders in Perak?’, ‘how are the tengkolok-folding techniques used?’ and ‘whatare the etiquettes and taboo in the making of tengkolok?’. Offering explanation, aqualitative cultural approach will be adopted. Both interview and observation will be used toobtain data wither in writing or visually. The observation done has suggested that there arefour tengkolok binders who are still active in Perak. Each of them has their own respectivetengkolok folding techniques. This article will discuss the work of these binders, their foldingtechniques, the manner and etiquettes as well as the taboo in tengkolok-making. -

Gangsar is a small business and is recognized as a songkok household industry in Lamongan City. Maintaining sustainable quality is considered both a challenge and a weakness to sustain its operations . The research purpose is to identify defects and analyze them to improve the quality of the product. Failure mode and effect analysis and fault tree analysis were used as research methods. This research began with mapping the flow production process to identify the defective product. Once the defective product was identified , the next step was to determine the risk priority number. The mapping failure tree was the next step to detecting fault mode. The results revealed three identified defects, namely the trim with the risk priority number144, the disordered sewing process with RPN 126 and the non-precision cutting fabric with RPN 86. These defects were analyzed using FTA and factors such as human error, bad materials, and broken sewing machines must be eliminated. Improved work facilities and regular training and supervision of the work are considered a best case scenario to maintain product quality. -
