Ampthill V. Coventry 11Th January 2020
PROGRAMME £3 AMPTHILL V. COVENTRY 11TH JANUARY 2020 KICK OFF 1.45PM PRIMARY PARTNER SENIOR PARTNERS Primary Partner: Ampthill & District Community Rugby Club Limited Senior Partners: Dillingham Park, Woburn St, Ampthill, Bedford, MK45 2HX www.ampthillrufc.com Tel: 01525 403303 Vat Reg No. 196 7536 11 Registered in England and Wales 00629333 WELCOME Chairman’s welcome to Ealing Trailfinders For today’s Green King IPA Championship match and for the second time this season, we offer a warm Bedfordshire welcome to our friends from Coventry RUFC to Dillingham Park. You will probably know that Coventry have been here during the National 1 campaign but last year they played in the Green King IPA Championship finishing in 8th position. Coventry is not too far from Ampthill, so we hope to see a good following making the trip down to add to what is bound to be a great atmosphere. I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome the Mayor of Ampthill, Mr Ian Titman, the Lady Mayoress, Ms Maggie Fuller and the Mayor’s honourable guests to our club lunch. I hope you enjoy the day. Our last fixture against the visitors was at the Butts Park Arena where we were given a bit of a rugby lesson. The final score was 64-26 with the home side throwing the ball around and attacking from all over the park. Let us hope our defence holds firm today during the league encounter. Coventry currently lie in a very creditable 3rd place in the league, having won four matches and drawn one (two points behind Cornish Pirates in the 2nd spot). -

AMPTHILL V. NOTTINGHAM RUGBY 12TH OCTOBER 2019 KICK OFF 3PM PRIMARY PARTNER SENIOR PARTNERS Primary Partner: Ampthill & District Community Rugby Club Limited Senior Partners: Dillingham Park, Woburn St, Ampthill, Bedford, MK45 2HX www.ampthillrufc.com Tel: 01525 403303 Vat Reg No. 196 7536 11 Registered in England and Wales 00629333 Saturday 12th October 2019 Ampthill & District RUFC v Nottingham Rugby WELCOME Chairman’s welcome to Nottingham Rugby Club A very warm welcome to the players, management, guests and supporters of Nottingham Rugby Club to Dillingham Park for their first ever competitive fixture. We sincerely hope that Nottingham enjoy the day, our humble facilities and traditional rugby hospitality. This is our first foray into the Green King IPA Championship. Our visitors are seasoned professionals having played at this level of competition for many years. They finished eighth in the league last year placing them in the top 20 clubs in the Country, so our task this afternoon is huge. Nottingham went down last week at the Bay to Cornish Pirates 42 – 7 in the Championship Cup. Head Coach Neil Fowkes gave his full squad the chance of a run out in the Cup but make no mistake a full-strength Nottingham will be on the paddock to face Ampthill. Ampthill 1st XV have played a couple of tricky games, namely Coventry and former Cup Champions, Ealing, before a really great afternoon last Saturday at near neighbours, Bedford RFC. Ampthill played well defensively and scored four great tries for a bonus point win. The evening celebrations saw a couple of shandies consumed in the marquee by the A’s faithful. -

Ampthill V. Bedford Blues 14Th December 2019 Kick Off 1.45Pm
PROGRAMME £2 AMPTHILL V. BEDFORD BLUES 14TH DECEMBER 2019 KICK OFF 1.45PM PrimaryPRIMARY Partner PARTNER: SENIOR PARTNERS MATCH SPONSOR Ampthill & District Community Rugby Club Limited Senior Partners: Dillingham Park, Woburn St, Ampthill, Bedford, MK45 2HX www.ampthillrufc.com Tel: 01525 403303 Vat Reg No. 196 7536 11 Registered in England and Wales 00629333 WELCOME Chairman’s welcome to Bedford Blues It gives me great pleasure to welcome our neighbours ‘Bedford Blues’ to Dillingham Park today for the Green King IPA Championship Cup. We sincerely hope that the officials, players and supporters enjoy our warm hospitality. This is likely to be the biggest gate at the club for a rugby fixture, so please bear with us if our services are not as slick as those of Goldington Road. We have put on additional food and drink outlets, a small temporary stand and of course the second marquee for a three-course lunch and social event following the final whistle. We hope that Blues supporters enjoy our post-match hospitality whatever the final score. And now to the rugby!! As the new kids on the block we have clearly found some of our fixtures to be somewhat challenging this year, however, last week we ‘clicked’ in the Grange Bowl. Our tackling was better, in attack we caused our visitors problems and generally the heart in the side was huge. All of this created a really terrific performance. It was disappointing to see so few people witnessing this spirited showing but probably the combination of Christmas preparations and our visitors bringing only a small support may have contributed to that. -
