Dear Sir / Madam

TYPE OF WORKS: CARRIGEWAY RENEWAL LOCATION: GREAT JUNCTION STREET ESTIMATED START DATE: 8th January 2018

General Details As part of an investment in ’s roads and footways for 2017/18, the carriageway on Great Junction Street will be resurfaced. The carriageway has been prioritised because of their current condition, and the works will improve both travelling experience and visual appearance of the surface. This work is scheduled to commence on Monday 8th January 2018 and will last approximately 4 weeks depending on weather and other circumstances. The actual start date and works duration will be confirmed on notices erected in the street prior to works starting.

Road use during the Works To allow for the safe execution of the works a temporary traffic regulation order (TTRO) has been promoted to suspend parking and impose road closures. Vehicular traffic on Great Junction Street will be restricted to Northbound traffic only in order for the works to be carried out safely. To facilitate this the following closures will be in place:

• Great Junction Street from the Bonnington Road junction to North Junction Street/ Junction to all vehicular traffic travelling south towards the foot of Walk. North bound traffic towards North Junction Street will be maintained for the duration of the construction phase. • Cables Wynd from Yardheads to Great Junction Street will also be closed for the duration of the construction phase.

The diversion route for south bound traffic that would normally travel along Great Junction Street is via Coburg Street, Sandport Place and , to arrive back at Great Junction Street. Traffic will be managed in and out of Mill Lane, Taylor Gardens and Ballantyne Road by the contractor. There will be left turn only policy for traffic exiting Bonnington Road, Bangor Road

and Ballantyne Road for the duration of the works. There will be a Right turn only policy for traffic exiting Taylor Gardens and Mill Lane for the duration of the works.

Operating Times The Contractor’s operating times will be between 0800 - 1700 hours from Monday to Saturday and 1000 - 1630 on Sundays. Where possible, access to residential properties will be maintained outhwith these times. Street notice signs will display changes to parking restrictions or access. Please do not park on-street during these times as all vehicles will be removed from the location of the works.

Minimising disruption and noise Every effort to minimise disruption and noise will be made, but unfortunately some is unavoidable during road works. Your patience is very much appreciated during any delays that occur. Throughout the programme, emergency vehicle and pedestrian access will be maintained.

I apologise for any inconvenience that these works may cause, but hope you will benefit from the improved street condition in the future.
