Moreover, with about 44 social currencies, 14 complementary currencies, Switzerland, counts among reference case studies in the virtual, social and complementary currency systems domain. Nevertheless, some questions remain: (1) What is the historical, cultural, political and economical context of this innovation laboratory? (2) What is the relevant legislation to support such monetary innovation? (3) What are the genuine utility and impact of these currencies? To contribute to these research questions, a literature review and a research survey will allow us not only to overview the Swiss and the Greater Geneva currency systems, but also evaluate the interest of using complementary and virtual currency systems for a sustainable economy.

Depuis de nombreuses années, l’Office du Tourisme a misé avec succès sur les atouts de La Côte que sont, entre autres, les festivals et manifestations en tout genre, les châteaux et musées, la nature avec de nombreuses randonnées, son art de vivre et sa gastronomie. Ce dernier secteur est en plein essor et tout particulièrement grâce à l’œnotourisme. Nos vignerons locaux sont parmi les pre- miers à suivre la vague avec la mise sur pied de leur propre balade œnotouristique, entre Begnins et Bursins. (Voir notre supplément). Non seulement à l’initiative mais aussi à la coordination, le Caveau des vignerons des appellations de Luins-Vinzel y a vu un objet promotionnel très prometteur. Six viticulteurs de la commune se sont joints au groupement du Caveau grâce à leur ap- pellation « Luins ». En effet, ils doivent s’adap- ter aux nouvelles règles du marché avec les- quelles il n’est pas aisé de faire cavalier seul. C’est un joli exemple de regroupement régio- nal qui travaille de concert à des réalisations profitant à tous.
