Dalam skripsi ini, Ahok dipahami sebagai komunikator politik yang memiliki strategi dan modal tertentu dalam upaya untuk melanggengkan dan memperjuangkan posisinya sebagai subjek dalam arena komunikasi politik di Indonesia. Pemilihan topik penelitian ini disebabkan oleh keberadaan Ahok yang menarik untuk dikaji secara mendalam dalam konteks komunikasi politik. Untuk mengungkap permasalahan yang dimunculkan dalam skripsi ini, peneliti berdasar pada metode penelitian kualitatif. Adapun pemilihan metode terebut disebabkan oleh relevansi metode dalam mengungkap permasalahan penelitian. Relevansi tersebut tampak pada kemampuan metode ini dalam mengungkap hal-hal esensial dari perilaku atau gaya komunikasi Ahok. Sebagai penajam analisis, peneliti menggunakan teori Arena Pierre Bourdieu. Secara sederhana, teori Arena merupakan teori yang dapat digunakan untuk menganalisis posisi subjek dalam memenangkan atau melestarikan posisinya -

Sigit Andhi Rahman1 Abstrak Sektor finansial merupakan sektor kerjasama yang paling intensif di dalam ASEAN+3. Penandatangan Chiang Mai Initiative (CMI) pada Mei 2000 dan kemudian diperluas melalui Chiang Mai Initiative multilateralization (CMIM) atau Common Fund Agreement pada bulan Mei 2009, menandakan sebuah babak baru dalam relasi antara negara-negara tersebut dan juga dalam perdebatan akademik mengenai multilateralisme dan regionalisme di wilayah Asia Timur. Makalah ini menganalisis CMI dalam konteks multilateralisme, bukan dengan cara membandingkan dengan Uni Eropa misalnya, akan tetapi dari segi prinsip-prinsip multilateralisme itu sendiri sebagaimana diformulasikan oleh John Gerard Ruggie. Jurnal PolGov Vol. I No. 1, 2019 35 Gubernur DKI Jakarta Dipilih Presiden: Sebuah Wacana yang Patut Dipertimbangkan Agung Wicaksono1 Abstrak Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mempertimbangkan wacana pemilihan gubernur DKI Jakarta oleh presiden. Wacana ini bisa dianggap sebagai jalan keluar dari kegaduhan politik yang ditimbulkan akibat pemilihan gubernur (pilgub) DKI Jakarta. Pilgub DKI Jakarta bermuara pada iklim politik yang tidak sehat. Polarisasi masyarakat semakin menguat dan itu tidak hanya terjadi di DKI Jakarta tetapi seluruh pelosok negeri. Masyarakat yang secara politik tidak terkait dengan DKI Jakarta pun turut ambil bagian dalam memanaskan situasi politik. Instabilitas politik di DKI Jakarta bisa berdampak pada instabilitas ekonomi. Tulisan ini berusaha menelaah wacana pemilihan gubernur DKI Jakarta oleh presiden dengan menggunakan konsep desentralisasi asimetris. Ada dua mekanisme yang bisa digunakan, yakni mekanisme “minimum demokrasi prosedural” dan “zero demokrasi prosedural”. Studi literatur digunakan untuk menyintesiskan data-data dan argumentasi yang dibangun oleh penulis. Harapannya, tulisan ini bisa memberikan pemikiran dan alternatif baru dalam khazanah ilmu politik, khususnya dalam kajian mengenai pemilihan kepala daerah. Kata Kunci: DKI Jakarta; Pilkada; Desentralisasi Asimetris Pendahuluan Beberapa tahun belakangan, konstelasi politik DKI Jakarta memanas. Dari tiga pilgub yang telah terjadi di Jakarta pasca dipilih langsung oleh rakyat (2007, 2012, dan 2016), pilgub ini tergolong lebih minim gejolak. Pilgub ini dimenangkan oleh Fauzi Bowo-Prijanto dengan mendapat suara sebesar 57,87%. -

Key Issues in Religion and World Affairs Interfaith Relations in Contemporary Indonesia: Challenges and Progress Hans Abdiel Harmakaputra PhD Student in Comparative Theology, Boston College I. Introduction In February 2014 Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) published a report concerning the rise of religious intolerance across Indonesia. Entitled Indonesia: Pluralism in Peril,1 this study portrays the problems plaguing interfaith relations in Indonesia, where many religious minorities suffer from persecution and injustice. The report lists five main factors contributing to the rise of religious intolerance: (1) the spread of extremist ideology through media channels, such as the internet, religious pamphlets, DVDs, and other means, funded from inside and outside the country; (2) the attitude of local, provincial, and national authorities; (3) the implementation of discriminatory laws and regulations; (4) weakness of law enforcement on the part of police and the judiciary in cases where religious minorities are victimized; and (5) the unwillingness of a “silent majority” to speak out against intolerance.2 This list of factors shows that the government bears considerable responsibility. Nevertheless, the hope for a better way to manage Indonesia’s diversity was one reason why Joko Widodo was elected president of the Republic of Indonesia in October 2014. Joko Widodo (popularly known as “Jokowi”) is a popular leader with a relatively positive governing record. He was the mayor of Surakarta (Solo) from 2005 to 2012, and then the governor of Jakarta from 2012 to 2014. People had great expectations for Jokowi’s administration, and there have been positive improvements during his term. Without a doubt, Jakarta has increasingly become the major core of the agglomeration processes transforming it and its satellite cities into a Mega Urban Region (MUR). This paper traces historically the interactions between migration, ethnicities and local politics in Jakarta from the 1960s to the 2000s focusing on the latest development, in which the phenomenon ‘Ahok’, the nickname of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, a Chinese-Christian from the small district of Belitung, has become an increasingly popular Governor of Jakarta. The paper argues that through the recent developments in Jakarta the politics have apparently been transformed into more civic, rather than ethnic politics. The nature of Jakarta as a proliferating migrant city transcends narrow cultural identities as well as conventional party politics into a more active citizenry through the widespread use of social media. There is a tendency of the people to believe in the news published in newspapers, for media is considered neutral. In Indonesia, 212 rallies are the events that were widely reported as headlines for weeks by national and international newspapers. This study showcases the brief portrait of The Jakarta Post representations on the 212 rallies by its use of linguistic properties, to see whether The Jakarta Post is impartial in delivering the news. This study employs Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) strategies and applies the analytical tools drawn from Systemic Functional Grammar (SFG). The data were taken from sixteen 212 rallies related news, including seven headlines, collected from The Jakarta Post archives. The result of this study reveals that by using transitivity and conceptual metaphor, The Jakarta Post tends to stand on the side of the one being protested, and oppose the rallies. -

Preparation for the competition required architectural design guidelines, which were an important part of the terms of reference for the project. This paper aims to provide an overview of the issues surrounding the work involved in the collaboration work between the Indonesian government and multi-disciplinary participants to establish museum design guidelines for this competition. By articulating and elaborating the characteristics of several famous museums design in the world, by defining relevant architectural theories, and by exploring an in-depth analysis of “batik”, which UNESCO designated as Intangible Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO in 2009, the architectural design guidelines were developed based onfindings revealedby inserting “batik” itself as the museum storyline into contemporary architecture. By referring to trans-disciplinary methods and concepts, then the process of batik making is potentially a kind of architectural “showing off” to expose the uniqueness of Indonesian batik as well as the Architecture-Event theory promoted by French philosopher Jacques Derrida. The questions that arise in this study are what kinds of nationalism-themed advertisements were produced and the reason behind their production, and by what companies, as well as on what basis were the ads produced? This research uses discourse analysis method from the perspective of history in order to see the relation between the advertisers and the media owner. This research examines data from various advertisements taken from a number of media from 1980 to 2008. The hypothesis of this research is that companies exploit the situation and condition of the National Independence Day, as well as to promote their interests. -

This is a literature review about local history of Jakarta and multicultural attitude. In the context of local history of Jakarta, ethnic Betawi as ethnic origin Jakarta is formed from the process of inter-ethnic assimilation imported by the Dutch colonial government in its political and economic interests. In its development, the Betawi ethnic group continued to strengthen and succeeded in establishing their own distinctive identity as well as disturbing with other ethnic groups in Indonesia, although in their present development their existence is decreasing due to development interest which is not able to open wide room for Betawi ethnicity itself because various causes. The Betawi ethnic group has a strong identity concerning Betawi cultural heritage such as strong religious soul, respect for diversity, friendly, homoris, helpful, open, tolerant to differences and so on. As a part of Jakarta's local history, ethnic Betawi history can be explored as a source of inspiration and a source of awareness in instilling multicultural souls in Jakarta, as a metropolitan city with increasingly diverse ethnicity towards social life within the framework of peace and harmony.
