Colby Shea- Perkins, a 14 year old with Aspeger’s Syndrome (AS) who attends Cape Elizabeth Middle School in Maine, has been recognized in a national competition for his painting Lazy Dog (to the left).He is one of 51 artists whose artwork was select- ed from over 5,500 submissions to represent his or her state in the All Kids Can...CREATE! exhibit. The exhibit will debut in Wash- ington, DC before embarking on Lazy Dog by Colby Shea-Perkins a two-year tour of children’s mu- seums across the country. Colby has won an all-expenses-paid trip to DC for a reception in celebra- tion of the opening. Summary: This report summarizes preliminary fall-term 2019 headcount and full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollments at degree-granting colleges and universities in Illinois. The report also summarizes enrollments in remedial/developmental courses during the 2018- 2019 academic year. Fall 2019 preliminary headcount enrollments at degree-granting institutions total 720,215 and preliminary FTE enrollments total 541,187. Brisk Rabbinical College did not respond to the survey and therefore was excluded from the report. Fall-term enrollments provide a “snapshot” of Illinois higher education enrollments on the 10th day, or census date, of the fall term. It should be noted that two colleges, Brisk Rabbinical College did not respond to the survey and was therefore excluded from the report. December 2019 Higher Education Cohorts The Governor’s Office of Early Childhood Development (GOECD) thanks the Illinois Network of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (INCCRRA) for developing this report. We especially thank Joni Scritchlow, Senior Program Director, and consultants Kira Hamann, Patricia Chamberlain and Johnna Darragh. Finally, we thank all of those in the field who contributed information and suggestions for the report. GOECD will use this report to help Institutions of Higher Education develop additional cohorts targeted to their communities’ specific needs, and to help the operators of early care and education programs find cohort programs that meet the needs of their staff members. Cohort Pathways in Illinois: Innovative Models Supporting the Early Childhood Workforce Institutions of higher education in Illinois have long implemented collaborative, innovative strategies to support credential and degree attainment. The Illinois Governor’s Office of Early Childhood Development (GOECD) is invested in supporting flexible, responsive pathways to credentials and degree attainment for early childhood practitioners, as early childhood practitioners equipped with appropriate knowledge and skills are critical to developing and implementing high-quality early childhood experiences for young children and their families. At the same time, the State of Illinois is eager to ensure that pathways developed not only support entry into and progression within the field, but also are inclusive of and responsive to programs’ diverse and experienced staff members who have not yet attained new credentials and/or degrees. -

Biography Margaret (Peggy) Roach was born on the north side of Chicago, Illinois on May 16, 1927 to James E. and Cecile Duffy Roach. Peggy once told a Chicago Sun Times reporter that she was known as Margaret only to the Social Security Administration. Peggy had three sisters and one brother and has always been a strong family person. Graduating from St. Scholastica High School in 1945 Peggy registered at Mundelein College where she graduated in 1949. -

A VIRTUAL CABARET BENEFITING THE NATIONAL BREAST CANCER COALITION FUND FROM THE HOSTS OF AND THE NEWGala YORK Sunday, December 6, 2020 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET A LETTER FROM FRAN Dear Friends, Welcome to our first-everVirtual Cabaret Event and an evening of talented performances and tantalizing fun, all for a great cause. This year marks the 20th Anniversary of our Les Girls Cabaret and the 25th Anniversary of our NY Gala, and these two special events have sustained the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC), year after year. When the pandemic hit, I began to wonder if either event would happen. But we found a way. Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of our Event Committee, the encouragement of our sponsors, the personal commitment of our hosts and performers, and the imagination of our production team, we are able to combine both events and once again offer a one-of-a-kind, fantastic evening. We are forever grateful to all of them. Since 1991, NBCC has been at the vanguard of the breast cancer movement, elevating breast cancer to an issue of national significance. NBCC brought about a federal research program that has awarded over $3.75 billion in research grants. We empower women and men, through education and training, to become a unified voice to save lives. And through our Artemis Project®, we lead a collaboration of exceptional scientists and dedicated advocates who focus on research to prevent women and men from getting breast cancer in the first place and stop it from metastasizing and taking lives.
