What is the difference between the iRemit Visa Card from a credit card? With the iRemit Visa Card, there are no monthly bills. You can only spend up to the value stored in your card. On the other hand, a credit card is a form of loan offered by a bank through the card. 2. How can I do cashless shopping thru my iRemit Visa Card? The iRemit Visa Card is accepted in all merchant establishments that have the VISA logo in the Philippines and abroad. It is also accepted in BancNet-affiliated merchants nationwide. Once your card is swiped, the amount is automatically deducted from your balance. For BancNet terminals, you will be asked to select the account to be debited (please select ‘Savings’ for your cash card) and to input your PIN. iRemit Visa Card can also be used for internet shopping in many e -stores and merchants on the web. 3. Why is iRemit Visa Card considered a more secured way of making electronic payments? iRemit Visa Card is a payment card that uses an EMV chip card technology. This is a highly secured technology which ensures 100% protection from skimming or fraudulent transactions. 4. Is there a transaction charge each time I use my iRemit Visa Card? There are no transaction fees for purchases made at any Visa and BancNet -accredited merchants. However, a minimum charge will be deducted from your card every time you withdraw in any BancNet, Megalink and Expressnet ATM terminals or Visa member banks. You can use your card up to the amount loaded in your card. 7. How can the iRemit Visa Card be loaded? The iRemit Visa Card can be loaded in any of the iRemit Offices, Tie-ups and Agents abroad. 8. What should I do if I lost my card or if I forgot my PIN? Cards that have been blocked can no longer be used. Remaining balance on the card shall be transferred to the new card that will be issued to you. 10. What happens if my account remains unused or inactive? Will it be closed? Your account will not be closed, however it can be zeroed out by the charges. There is an inactivity charge of PhP 100.00 should the iRemit Visa Card be inactive (no debit / credit transaction) for twelve consecutive months commencing from the last transaction using the card. The charge will start on the 13th month of inactivity and will continue until the card becomes active or the balance in the card becomes zero. Since your account will be considered dormant, just re-activate by depositing any amount into your account. 11. What if my card gets captured at an ATM machine abroad? What should I do? If the iRemit Visa Card gets captured abroad, it shall automatically be destroyed and shall no longer be returned to the cardholder. Hence, a replacement card shall be requested immediately. 12. What is Online Banking? It is an infrastructure connected to the existing BancNet ATM Switch network that can accept secure financial transactions originating from non-traditional channels such as personal computers and mobile phones.
