A. DESCRIPTION OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG PREVENTION EDUCATION PROGRAM OFFERED TO SANTA CLARA COUNTY SCHOOLS

I. TOO GOOD FOR DRUGS/VIOLENCE (TGFD) 10 SESSION CURRICULUM for Middle and High School- 10 sessions https://www.toogoodprograms.org/too-good/  Decision making skills, communication, media literacy, conflict resolution, as well as building and maintaining healthy relationships  Underage and binge drinking, tobacco use, use of illegal drugs and abuse of prescription and over-the- counter medications Program implementation options: Either small group sessions for at risk youth or curriculum taught to all students in one particular grade

II. ALCOHOL, DRUGS AND YOUTH” PARENT EDUCATION WORKSHOP- 90 minutes  Adolescent brain development and how alcohol and drugs affect the brain and body; substance use, abuse and addiction; and the various drugs used by teens  What parents can do/ where to seek support/ resources if they suspect use/ abuse  Effective parenting practices- communication skills, implementing limits, rules and consequences

III. FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE PROGRAM- (HIGH SCHOOL) CLUB LIVE- (MIDDLE SCHOOL) http://www.fridaynightlive.org  This peer-oriented program that is youth driven and youth led focuses on building positive relationships, fosters resilience and builds protective factors in youth  Program includes Community service, social action activities, participation in advocacy for safe and healthy environments, and promotion of healthy policies

16. ADDITIONAL SERVICES A. In addition to the “Alcohol, Drugs and Youth” parent education workshops listed above, 1. Rebekah Children’s Services will also provide 4 outreach workshops at community sites 2. Unity Care will provide 6 outreach workshops total at these sites:  Bibleway Church, Imani Village (The Hub), / Campbell Union High School District, Maranatha Christian Center

B. “Peer-to-Peer Alcohol and Drug Prevention Project  This program is a peer-to-peer prevention and intervention program aimed at decreasing student use of alcohol and drugs, specifically the use of marijuana. Socially influential students are engaged and trained on techniques that specifically address the use and abuse of alcohol and drugs in the student population. o DADS is currently recruiting 5 high schools for this program
