Buffo receive "gigs" for violations of the Singing Cadets Handbook and also for not following through on "details" given to them by the older members. The "details" are requests that the old men give to the buffo to complete. New members also learn that they are responsible for entertaining the older members on the bus by "roasting them" and making jokes. The new members must also know the location of the bus at all times. New members also take part in "call downs" where they have to call two of the older members of the group and inform them of the details of the performance the next day or they can receive a "gig." At the end of the winter tour the new members take part in performing a class set of 25 "atomics" (a type of push-up) while on the bus. Primary Sanction{s}: TAMU Student Rules (24.4.5. Organizational Suspension December 15, 2018 to January 1, 2022 Beer was present at the parties. On August 25, 2018, pledges of FIJI were given instructions by their pledge trainers to go to a ranch and spend the night. The pledges were told that it would be best for them to stay up all night getting to know each other. They were told they Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity 8/25/2018 9/7/2018 12/5/2018 could bring alcohol, but no drugs. It was reported that marijuana and beer were present. The majority of the pledges stayed up throughout the night and then designated drivers took them back home at 6 am to prepare for bid day. At bid day, the pledges were told they could not have water bottles with them. After the bid day ceremony the pledges were taken to clean up the house of a member of the fraternity before they were taken home. Primary Sanction{s}: TAMU Student Rules (24.4.5. Hazing) Organizational Suspension through August 2029 On November 11, 2018, an anonymous statement (now known to have been written by a current student) was delivered to the Dean of Student Life. The statement provided details of hazing occurring within the Delta Kappa Epsilon (DKE) Fraternity starting the Fall 2016 semester until the Fall 2018 semester. An additional complainant came forward soon after and provided an additional statement about hazing that took place during DKE's new member process and initiation weekend in the spring 2018 semester. The details of alleged activities include, for example: excessive physical activity, alcohol intake, deceit causing mental distress, being locked in a small outdoor shed, and being hosed down with cold water in freezing temperatures. Majority of the events took place at the old and new DKE chapter house between the Fall 2016 semester and the Fall 2018 semester; however, some of the activities occurred off-campus at additional locations as well.
