AdClub www. wmuadclub. com The WMU AdClub is dedicated to providing professional and social networking opportunities for students interested in pursuing a career in the advertising industry. The AdClub hosts industry speakers on a weekly basis throughout the academic year, as well as attending various career conferences in Detroit, and City. A major initiative of the WMU AdClub is the distribution of a resume book, which is distributed to 75+ advertising firms throughout the U.S. The WMU AdClub is also a collegiate chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the largest and oldest advertising trade association in the U.S., representing 50,000 professionals in the industry (www. aaf. org).

Alpha https://wmich. collegiatelink. net/organization/akpsi Founded in 1904, is the oldest and largest co-ed professional business fraternity in the U.S. Alpha Kappa Psi attracts achievement- minded business students and provides these students with personal development opportunities as well as enhances their professionalism, thus enabling them to become better business leaders for tomorrow.

American Marketing Association (AMA) www. rso. wmich. edu/ama The American Marketing Association is a professional student organization whose purpose is to expand students’ understanding and interest in all facets of marketing beyond that of academic experience by providing professional, social, and service activities for our members. We provide our members with the skills, knowledge and experience they need to be competitive in today’s corporate environment. AMA invites professionals from every industry to come and speak to our members, at bi-monthly meetings, about marketing and opportunities in the companies. AMA also competes in the national case competition and has been a top eight finalist several times in recent years.

Association for Operations Management (APICS) http://wmuapics. blogspot. com The student chapter of APICS (Advancing Productivity, Innovation and Competitive Success) holds regular meetings that cover career preparation, presentations by business professionals, company visits and social activities. The ASC (APICS Student Chapter) has been able to develop into a strong organization with high commitment from its members because of the relationship it has with the professional parent chapter. This guidance has developed a well-organized ASC that provides its members with incredible speakers, tours and networking opportunities at the local and regional level.

Beta (BAP) www. rso. wmich. edu/bap is an international professional honorary organization for accounting students. BAP strives to recognize outstanding academic achievements in the fields of accounting, finance and information systems. We also promote the study and practice of professional fields related to these disciplines. While membership implies past academic achievements, emphasis in the organization is on professional development of its members and interaction between members and practicing financial professionals. Active involvement is required and helps prepare members for the leadership roles they will assume during their careers. Social activities and community service provide a lighter side of campus life and encourage networking among members.

Business Technology Network (BTN) Business Technology Network offers opportunities for student leadership experience, partnerships with industry and integrating technology into the curriculum and professional events. BTN provides great networking opportunities and is a wonderful way for you to develop and grow in the information technology field. Semester events are planned for active members. Events include plant tours, general meetings, guest speakers from various IT professionals and professional events. Members have the opportunity to become leaders in the industry through events that are supported by partnerships with industries, the government and the university.

Delta (DSP) www. dspwmu. com is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.

Entrepreneur Club The Entrepreneur Club brings together entrepreneurs, students, faculty and business executives in spirit of the entrepreneurship in context to today's changing global economy. Members seek to understand all aspects of starting and growing a business. Students who desire to start their own business someday can explore entrepreneurship through internships, mentorships, business plan competitions and networking. All majors are welcome.

Financial Management Association (FMA) The Financial Management Association is a student organization that acts as a gateway to the field of finance. FMA is dedicated to helping finance majors, and other majors, connect with professionals from different aspects of the financial world. More broadly, the Financial Management Association is a professional organization of financial executives, analysts, professors and students who live and work in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, , London, and Montreal – in fact, all around the world. FMA is the only organization that has been successful in bringing together students, professors and professionals for their mutual benefit. Membership in FMA establishes you as an integral part of an important network of finance professionals and demonstrates your commitment to the profession. . Financial Services Club (FSC) We are a group whose aim is to foster and create awareness for client facing positions in the financial services industry. This means that we are working to build the personal financial program, and touch on other areas including: accounting, estate planning, and insurance. We have partnered with the Society of Finance Service Professionals (SFSP), National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), and the Financial Planning Association to make this a reality. The FSC strives to bring in financial professionals to come and speak about a broad range of finance careers. These professionals will explain what it takes to get a job in their sector and give you an insider prospective of the daily activities of what it is that they do.

Food Marketing Association (FMA) The Food Marketing Association exists to facilitate interaction between food industry representatives and students to provide opportunities for networking among its members. By focusing on the long term goals of business students and the needs of employers, the FMA will leverage its influence to create a community amongst its members and opportunities for their success. We hold true to our mission statement; it forms and bonds the organization.

Global Business Student Association (GBSA) www. wmich. edu/globalbusiness/association. html The mission of Global Business Student Association is to explore the unique challenges and opportunities of global business by gaining a better understanding of different cultures and business practices. GBSA works with students to help increase their understanding of global business so that they may better prepare themselves for potential opportunities in the global workplace. The organization also works with the Global Business Center to host a global lecture series and with WMU's Study Abroad Programs. GBSA welcomes students from all majors.

Management Student Organization (MSO) www. rso. wmich. edu/mso The purpose of the Management Student Organization is to promote character and leadership development, academic achievement and lifelong bonds. The roles of this organization includes coordinating, training, guiding, counseling, supporting and assisting management students to function effectively and to enhance overall quality of students’ lives. MSO also brings recruiters from well-known companies into the Haworth College of Business to present and recruit for internships and job opportunities. MSO is an excellent networking opportunity; we conduct a number of social events. Most importantly, MSO gives students the opportunity to develop relationships and seek advice from members of the faculty, recruiters and fellow MSO members who share the passion to lead.

Phi Chi Theta www. rso. wmich. edu/phichitheta Theta is a nationally known, co-ed business fraternity. The fraternity focuses on making you the best professional you can be. We focus on resume critiques, teaching you interviewing skills, professional events and networking. Our members are successful in a wide variety of businesses. We travel to different cities each semester to expand our networks and meet new companies. As a member of the fraternity you will become a leader, a successful business person, an active member in the community and create lifelong friendships. We also have fun through social events and intramural sports.

Sales and Business Marketing Association (SBMA) http://wmusbma. org A student organization at Western Michigan University designed to increase knowledge of professional selling, provide experiential learning opportunities, promote professionalism in sales and strengthen the network among SBMA members, corporations, alumni and the community. Our main goal is to provide our members with a job or an internship.

Sigma Phi Omega Omega is a professional business fraternity dedicated to establishing relationships between our members and the food and consumer packaged goods industries. The members of form a brotherhood of over thirty active members and alumni to promote professional development and lasting friendships. Because Sigma Phi Omega is a brotherhood, its members value the importance of honesty, sincerity, and humility. These attributes are developed during the membership process and are shown throughout the fraternity by leadership and cooperation among its officers and members. Our members actively give back to the community through volunteer activities consistently throughout the semester.

Society for Excellence in Human Resources (SEHR) www. rso. wmich. edu/sehr The Society for Excellence in Human Resources strives to enhance the potential of its members by providing them with tools necessary to excel in human resource management and other fields in the business world. We will develop our members into individuals of integrity who will contribute to the enhancement of their professions and their communities. Through affiliations with the Kalamazoo Human Resource Management Association and the Society for Human Resource Management, members of SEHR will become knowledgeable of current HR-related issues and gain access to a network of business professionals.

Student Leadership Advisory Board www. wmich. edu/business/slab The Haworth College of Business needs its best and brightest students to act as leaders for the College and assume responsibility for planning and implementing student activities and events such as Business Bash, Major Mashup, Brown and Gold Days, BBA orientation and on- and off-campus recruiting. SLAB also acts as an advisory board for the dean and associate deans on student issues. SLAB provides an opportunity to build leadership skills, network with other high performing students and get involved with making important decisions for the College. SLAB meets once each month and is led by its elected officers, allowing students to gain important leadership and managerial experience through hands-on activities that enhance the student experience.
