Buildings have been constructed airtight to conserve energy. But this often results in poor ventilation, allowing pollutants to accumulate indoors. Poor indoor air quality has been related to a variety of symptoms such as: • a nagging cough • persistent headache • mysterious rashes • dif culty concentrating • frequent illnesses, allergies and others. Many times the causes and the symptoms of indoor air quality problems are vague. In other cases there are de nite links between speci c illnesses and certain biological or chemical pollutants.
