Edith Graves was interviewed by a local radio station to promote the benefits of Badminton, to discuss her involvement in the sport and to encourage others to take part in this fun and social sporting activity.

I went on the radio to encourage support for Lancaster, and District Badminton League. The League is comprised of a total of 11 clubs spread across the district including the centre of Lancaster, Ingleton, Kirby Lonsdale and Hest Bank. It is a well established league - I remember my Grandpa telling me about playing for them - and we are aiming to attract new players. Badminton is a fantastic sport that offers a great way of keeping fit and it is also a social element game where I have made some amazing friends, in fact, Badminton is recognised as one of the most social sports in Britain. Can juniors get involved? Although this is deemed an adult league I am a junior and I play for an adult team as do many others. There is the opportunity to get excellent junior coaching from Level 1 and Level 2 coaches, whatever age you are so from 8 to 18 kids can get playing too. There are junior clubs at Ripley, Hest Bank and Ingleton and although the season has technically ended now you can get in touch with the Club if you’re interested in getting involved next season. What can people do during the summer? The season has ended but social play at , Storeys and Bolton-Le-Sands Badminton Clubs will be available throughout the summer. There will also be some free sessions for beginners. These will be run from the Boys Grammar 8-10 pm every Thursday, starting on the 27th June: www.lancasterbadminton.com
