LANCIA FLAVIA 2000 COUPE 1970 Lancia Flavia 2000 Coupé Comfortable, well-mannered, sophisticated, and penned by a leading design house, the Lancia Flavia 2000 is a beautiful classic Italian Coupé. Pininfarina style packaged around a punchy boxer flat-four. Restrained yet purposeful, practical yet sporting, these late Flavias are mid-century Italian motoring incarnate. The Flavia 2000, derived from its 2.0L flat 4-cylinder engine that's mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, was an evolution of the Series II Flavia Coupé. The car's body shell was designed and made by Pininfarina. Stunningly contemporary for the era with thin roof pillars, a lengthy and straight belt line, and a rather long overhang from the front wheels to the end of the front bumper. There is a definite James Bond DB5-esque quality to it. With more Italian flair. From some angles the car hints at various Ferraris and Dinos, blame Pininfarina! The interior was also designed by Pininfarina and bears a striking resemblance to that of the Ferrari 330 GT. There is the Italian flair again. The handsome instrument binnacle in the Flavia houses crisp Veglia gauges, framed with an elegant gray veneer. A broad center console features the prominent chrome gear lever and an orderly array of ash trays, knobs, and switchgear. The power plant was adopted from the 2000 sedan delivered with a 5-speed manual transmission. The 5-speed manual transmission channels power to the front wheels, and the 113 hp is on par with competitive marques of the day, while the chassis dynamics and power steering create a remarkably unique driving sensation. As with other Lancia models from this era the car focuses more on smoothness and poise instead of outright sportiness, and thanks to its unique (for the segment) FWD layout, it offers excellent grip and road manners. The 2000 Coupé is considered to be one of the last true Lancia cars, designed before Fiat took control of the company in 1969. The cars do not suffer the corrosion problems associated with later generation Lancias and are generally regarded as being more resistant than contemporary rivals from other manufacturers. Nous pensions profiter du Motor Festival d’Avignon pour en faire produire une toute petite série, afin d’attirer votre attention avec ce nouveau produit (ce qui n’a pas manqué). Malheureusement il ne connaitra pas de suite (du moins sous cette forme), les variations et différence de taille étant trop importantes, provoquant à coup sur de trop nombreux retours. A suivre donc. Vous trouverez ci-joint 3 bulletins de participation pour les prochaines dates au calendrier du club. La séance est levée et tout le monde se dirige vers ma voiture pour me demander de soulever le capot moteur...Non non, tout est d'origine je vous assure. Juste refait dans les règles de l'art, c'est tout ! Les journalistes présents préparent déjà une pige pour les prochains mensuels d'auto classiques en insistant sur le caractère exceptionnel des Lancia, ne tarissant pas d'éloges sur leurs autres qualités routières et de confort. Les possesseurs de classiques d'autres marques s'interrogent : peut être que la prochaine sera une Lancia, car franchement ça respire et ça tient la route...! Et puis maintenant on a du solide avec les clubs, leurs bonnes adresses et les sorties interclubs. Justement cette journée du 29 mai, il y a deux autres rallyes qui convergent vers le Château de la Crête. Tout le monde, les "Dolce Vita" et les "Scuderia" se retrouveront le samedi soir pour un bon restaurant dans un cadre agréable près de Audes (03190). Le lendemain, après un petit rallye commun du matin, nous bavarderons autour de nos voitures dans le cadre superbe du château de la Crête. Et vous, vous faites quoi le 29 mai : circuit ou rallye ? et le dimanche 30, plutôt champagne ou jus d'orange ? Bref ce sera surtout la fête des Lancia classiques, avec comme prétexte principal les 50 ans de la Flavia alors dépêchez vous de vous inscrire car votre Lancia le mérite bien ! L’autre évènement phare de l’année sera notre rallye annuel (9 et 10 octobre), dont la scène sera celle du Haut- Koenigsbourg et des vignes d’Alsace au moment des vendanges..

THE STANDARD CAR Roger Thomas from Bristol is the owner of this original 1 973 Fulvia Coupö series 3. lt has the 1 .3-litre engine and has only 37,000km on the clock. Yes, some UK Lancias clocked the distance in kilometres (for the record it's nearly 23,000 miles) and some in miles. THE TRACK AND RATLY CONTENDER lVatthew Fry, of Headley, Hampshire, bought his 1 967 Rallye 1.3 series 1 three years ago for historic rallying but hel actually used it mainly for track days. None of this is any problem for the Fulvia though. lt's well up to multi-tasklng. THE LONG DISTANCE RUNNER This 1967 Rallye 1 .3 HF is very rare. Lancia only made about a dozen of these in right-hand drive. This one belongs to John Lloyd from Clrencester. HF stands for high fidelity - an old Lancia club-racers' term indicating something special, in this case lightness. THE CIRCUIT RACER As well as 1 1 World Rally Championships, Lancia has also earned the Formula 1 and World Sports Car titles.
