WICKLOW GAA 2020 Coach Education Calendar Because Knowledge is Power TURAS – the Irish word for Journey – it was chosen to support the journey taken by both coaches and players up through the age grades. Player Centered and Coach Driven Better Coaches + Better Players = Better Teams Join, like or follow us for updates on social media Twitter Facebook Website Officialwicklowgaa.ie Wicklow GAA Coach Education Education Programme 2020 Coaches are encouraged to participate practically to maximize their opportunity for learning. Our programme is designed to support all coaches working at child, youth and adult level through specifically planned courses and workshops incorporating all that is good in terms of coaching best practice. Again this year in attempting to meet the mandatory coaching standards as set out by the GAA we are organising the required amount of coaching courses to meet these targets.The Games Development programme for this year provides the best possible support for coaches in relation to Coach Education and Coaching Workshops.TURAS principles should run throughout the coaching & games programme at all levels. As such, all stakeholders Players, Coaches, Managers, Academy leaders & Parents will speak a common language and follow a common pathway as they progress on their TURAS Pathway. TURAS Principals The kep principals underpinning coaching on the Wicklow GAA Coach Development are presented using the acronym TURAS. TURAS is the Irish for journey, it was purposefully chosed to reflect the journey that is player coach development. Testing and challenging: all players should be challenged to improve at their level Understanding the player is at the centre of the game and provides individualised development (Player centred) Resembles the game (games based) All players involved, all the time: lots of touches, lots od decisions Should always be enjoyable, devementally appropriates & holistic GAA experience TURAS Coach Take ownership over their own coach development and become reflective coaches Understand the thecinical, tactical, physical and psycho-behavioural development of young players and apply the appropriate coaching toolkit that develop these components. Recognise the importance of, and work towards, a coherent, consistant and shared understanding of long-term player development. Apply an appropriate games-based and player centred coaching and games programme Share knowledge and experiences with other stakeholders on the player pathway. This course will be called Introduction to Gaelic Games and will be a joint programme recognising the three organisation and codes. This new course should be avail from February 2020 and mean that coaches of all Gaelic games will be catered for in this new programme.     Camogie Association & GAA Information and Guidance leaflet on the National Vetting Bureau (Children & Vulnerable Persons) Act 2012 March 2015 1 National Vetting Bureau (Children & Vulnerable Persons) Act The National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Act 2012 is the vetting legislation passed by the Houses of the Oireachtas in December 2012. This legislation is part of a suite of complementary legislative proposals to strengthen child protection policies and practices in Ireland. Once the ‘Vetting Bureau Act’ commences the law on vetting becomes formal and obligatory and all organisations and their volunteers or staff who with children and vulnerable adults will be legally obliged to have their personnel vetted. Such personnel must be vetted prior to the commencement of their work with their Association or Sports body. It is important to note that prior to the Act commencing that the Associations’ policy stated that all persons who in a role of responsibility work on our behalf with children and vulnerable adults has to be vetted. This applies to those who work with underage players. (The term ‘underage’ applies to any player who is under 18 yrs of age, regardless of what team with which they play). The introduction of compulsory vetting, on an All-Ireland scale through legislation, merely formalises our previous policies and practices. 1 When will the Act commence or come into operation? The Act is effectively agreed in law but has to be ‘commenced’ by the Minister for Justice and Equality who decides with his Departmental colleagues when best to commence all or parts of the legislation at any given time.

    COUNTY Record of Protected Structures 2016 – 2022 WICKLOW COUNTY DEVELOPMENT PLAN Comhairle Contae Chill Mhantáin DECEMBER 2016 Wicklow County Council - Record of Protected Structures Each development plan must include policy objectives to protect structures or parts of structures of special interest within its functional area under Section 10 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000. The primary means of achieving this objective is for the planning authority to compile and maintain a record of protected structures to be included in the development plan. A planning authority is obliged to include in the Record of Protected Structures every structure which, in its opinion, is of special architectural, historical, archaeological, artistic, cultural, scientific, social or technical interest. A ‘protected structure’ is defined as any structure or specified part of a structure, which is included in the Record of Protected Structures. A structure is defined by the Planning and Development Act, 2000 as ‘any building, structure, excavation, or other thing constructed or made on, in or under any land, or any part of a structure’. In relation to a protected structure, the meaning of the term ‘structure’ is expanded to include: (a) the interior of the structure; (b) the land lying within the curtilage of the structure; (c) any other structures lying within that curtilage and their interiors, and (d) all fixtures and features which form part of the interior or exterior of the above structures. Where indicated in the Record of Protected Structures, protection may also include any specified feature within the attendant grounds of the structure which would not otherwise be included.

    THE LIST of CHURCH OF IRELAND PARISH REGISTERS A Colour-coded Resource Accounting For What Survives; Where It Is; & With Additional Information of Copies, Transcripts and Online Indexes SEPTEMBER 2021 The List of Parish Registers The List of Church of Ireland Parish Registers was originally compiled in-house for the Public Record Office of Ireland (PROI), now the National Archives of Ireland (NAI), by Miss Margaret Griffith (1911-2001) Deputy Keeper of the PROI during the 1950s. Griffith’s original list (which was titled the Table of Parochial Records and Copies) was based on inventories returned by the parochial officers about the year 1875/6, and thereafter corrected in the light of subsequent events - most particularly the tragic destruction of the PROI in 1922 when over 500 collections were destroyed. A table showing the position before 1922 had been published in July 1891 as an appendix to the 23rd Report of the Deputy Keeper of the Public Records Office of Ireland. In the light of the 1922 fire, the list changed dramatically – the large numbers of collections underlined indicated that they had been destroyed by fire in 1922. The List has been updated regularly since 1984, when PROI agreed that the RCB Library should be the place of deposit for Church of Ireland registers. Under the tenure of Dr Raymond Refaussé, the Church’s first professional archivist, the work of gathering in registers and other local records from local custody was carried out in earnest and today the RCB Library’s parish collections number 1,114. The Library is also responsible for the care of registers that remain in local custody, although until they are transferred it is difficult to ascertain exactly what dates are covered.
