Any club found to have used an ineligible player or breaks any of these Go Games rules will be immediately barred from participating in the remainder of the Go Games Programme The emphasis should be on FUN and SKILL DEVELOPMENT and not on winning at all costs Lead coaches must book their home venue and ensure there is no clash of fixtures with Camogie, Ladies Football, Club Coaching or County Board Games All players, mentors and supporters are expected to show respect for the referee. Failure to do this will result in the referee reporting the persons involved and these people along with Club Officers will be called before the disciplinary committee of Coaching & Games. Clubs should adopt a standardised approach to Go Games based on these set of rules to ensure uniformity among clubs. However, the central philosophy of Go Games is - to promote full participation and fair play while catering for the developmental needs of the participants. Games should be played in line with the GAA Respect Initiative Clubs to erect the GO GAMES Give Respect, Get respect sign in their club grounds It is Suggested that a Hooter system be used to designate the Start, Half time & Finish of all games For Under 7 Blitzes please make sure there is a line of cones across the middle of the pitch for two Zones to keep forward and backs in positions. No Zones at under 9 It would also be very important that parents/spectators are in a designated area for the duration of all games - Show approval for effort, not just success Players must play in their own age Group If you need an extra team on the day - all clubs to provide players to form a new team if they have extra players - this makes sure no team is waiting When blitzes are cancelled due to bad weather they must be refixed within 2/3 days of the original fixture - this is the host clubs responsibility Clubs are asked not to enter U7 teams if the majority of players are U5 (keep them in nursery) All players to rotate playing positions during blitz/game. For some blitzes where there is only 3 teams its two games of three quarters (7 minutes a Quarter) All Clubs must arrive on time! To assist fixtures programme for host club and warm ups must be kept to a min to ensure quick start time It is all clubs responsibility to make sure every player is wearing a mouthguard. As we made a decision at our Go Games meeting that the host club were not providing any refreshments this year. ( If clubs which they can bring their own refreshments) It is optional if clubs want to provide tea/coffee to parents but not expected BE PREPARED BE PREPARED BE PREPARED Each Club should purchase a supply of the Stock or Boil and Bite mouthguards for use in such situations where young player has no mouthguard. Likewise Coaches Respect bibs should be kept in the same kit bag as your club jerseys to ensure all coaches have them on the day of the match.
