Morris Ridge Solar Energy Center 9 of 10 PLANT SPECIES LIST Observed On-Site During EDR Surveys, 2019

Nomenclature follows the New York Flora Atlas (Weldy et al., 2020).

Notes: 1. This species is listed as a prohibited invasive species in New York State (NYSDEC, 2014). 2. This species is listed as a regulated invasive species in New York State (NYSDEC, 2014). 3. This species is listed as threatened by New York State (Young, 2019). 4. Eastern gamma grass found west of the coastal plain are not considered native to New York and are not of conservation concern. The plants are distributed by the Natural Resources Conservation Service in central and western New York for planting as cattle forage, and have turned up in seed mixes for restoration (NYNHP, 2020). Native plants, from Orange County south through New York City to Eastern Long Island, are listed as threatened by New York State (Young, 2019).

State Conservation Statuses: T Threatened. Listed plants are those with 6 to fewer than 20 extant sites, or 1,000 to fewer than 3,000 individuals, or restricted to not less than four or more than seven U.S.G.S. 7½ minute series maps, or species listed as threatened by the United State Department of Interior. EV Exploitably vulnerable. As currently defined under 6 NYCRR Part 193.3, this category includes species that are likely to become threatened in the near future throughout all or a significant portion of their range within the state if causal factors continue unchecked. However, this definition does not apply to many plants on this list and efforts are underway to change the definition or the list (Young, 2019). NN Not native in New York State. Not of conservation concern. State Conservation Ranks: S2 Imperiled in New York State because of rarity (6 - 20 sites or few remaining individuals) or highly vulnerable to extirpation from New York State due to biological or human factors. S3 Vulnerable in New York State. At moderate risk of extinction or elimination due to very restricted range, very few populations (usually 21 - 35 extant sites), steep declines, or other factors. S4 Apparently secure in New York State. Common in many areas of the state but possibly rare in other areas. S5 Demonstrably secure in New York State. Common; widespread and abundant.
