Crime Branch, Sector – 11 Sr. Date Detail of Event No. 1. 20.01.2015 Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested 05 bookies who were indulged in gambling activities on Cricket Matches. There were complaints that some gamblers are indulging in the Tricity and they are playing and planning to cheat the innocent public by the way of alluring them to put their money on the forthcoming Cricket World Cup-2015. A case FIR No. 17 dated 20.01.2015 u/s 420,120-B IPC and 4&13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in Police Station Sector-19, Chandigarh has been worked out. 2. 12.02.2015 Crime Branch developed secret information that 03 accused persons namely Sanjog Kumar, Sonu Dhane and Sanju were frequently involved in Auto lifting in the tri-city. During the course of investigation, 08 stolen Motor cycles and 03 stolen scooters were recovered on their disclosure solving 11 cases of auto theft registered with different police station of the city. 3. 23.02.2015 Crime Branch of Chandigarh police have arrested five persons and break the nexus of officials of Car dealer agencies, banking officials along with other persons, who got approved the loan for brand new vehicles on the basis of fake and forged documents and sold out the same to the different purchasers and as such they caused wrongful loss lacs of rupees to the banks and the general public. A case FIR no. 54 dated 18/02/2015 u/s 419/420/467/468/471/474/120-B IPC, Police Station-31, Chandigarh. During the course of investigation all together 11 vehicles have been recovered from the possession of accused as well as purchasers which were procured by the above said accused from the different car agencies by obtaining loans on fake and forged documents and further sold some of vehicles to the innocent buyers and the detail of recovered vehicles is as under:- DUSTAR- 2, MARUTI SWIFT-3, ALTO- 2, ETTOS CROSS-1, BALERO PICK UP-1, HYUNDAI I-20, 1MOHINDERA, VERITO-1 4. 31.03.2015 Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police apprehended 02 persons and recovered 150 boxes (1800 bottles) of Beer make Kingfisher from a vehicle bearing registration no. HR-68-6250 (Mahindra Pick- up) with them any legal permit/permission. The said consignment is being smuggled outside Chandigarh. A case FIR no. 164 dated 31.03.2015 u/s 61-01-14 Excise Act, PS Manimajra, Chandigarh was registered in this regard. 5. 08.04.2015 Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police apprehended 02 persons and with their arrest succeeded to crack a gang who used to rob jewellery and money from the school children by beating and showing artificial gun and on the pretext to protect them from other school children. Both the accused were arrested on 07.04.2015 and recovered Rs. 4500/- and one gold ring from their possession. A case FIR No. 108 dated 07.04.2015 u/s 392, 34 IPC, PS – 17, Chandigarh was registered in this regard. 6. 23.05.2015 The Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police succeeded in apprehending an accused namely Emmanuel Chukwunonye s/o Oforka of Nigerian, while he was in possession of 28 gms Cocaine without any license or permit. A case FIR No. 168 dated 23.05.2015 u/s 21 NDPS Act, has been registered in PS – 17, Chandigarh 7. 01.07.2015 In a major breakthrough, Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested one person namely Mukesh Kumar s/o Sh. Pankaj Kumar r/o H.No. 703, Village Hallo Majra, Chandigarh Permanent Address Village-Sapohi, Post Office-Kaushila, PS-Bodh Gaya, Distt-Gaya, Bihar who was indulged in preparing fake Aadhar Cards. After verifying the facts, a case FIR No. 189 dated 30.06.2015 u/s 420, 467,468 IPC, PS-31, Chandigarh was registered in this regard. Fake Aadhar Card and equipments i.e. CPU, Printer, Scanner and other materials which he was using to prepare fake Aadhar Cards were also seized from his institute. 8. 28.07.2015 The Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police succeeded in apprehending two inter-state drug peddlers namely Manzoor and Mazid Hassan both resident of Distt Anantnag, Jammu & Kashmir while they were carrying 500 gms Charas without any license or permit. 9. 03.08.2015 Crime Branch developed a secret information that 02 accused persons namely Manoj Kumar s/o Sh. Ramesh Kumar r/o Village-Devipura, PS-Bhojpur, Distt-Muradabad, UP, age about 32 years and Mukesh Kumar s/o Late Sh. Ram Niwas Singh r/o Village -Garha, Post Office & PS-Dhanari, Distt- Sambhal, UP, age about 25 yrs were frequently involved in Auto lifting in the tri-city. During the course of investigation, 13 stolen two wheelers were recovered on their disclosure which led to solving of 10 cases of auto theft registered with different police station of the city 10. 08/08/2015 Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police conducted raids on the premises of Hookah Bar at the Kasbah Lounge, SCO No. 47, back side showroom, Sector-26, Chandigarh & SCO No. 19, Cafeena-26, Sector-26, Chandigarh which are owned by Love Gupta and Amit Verma, respectively. Dr. Deepak Bakshi of GMSH, Sector-16, Chandigarh and Drug Inspector were also accompanied the police team. Large numbers of Hookah Consumers were found sitting in both the premises. During checking, samples of all the relevant articles including different flavours, which were used in hookahs were taken into possession with the help of Drug Inspector after sampling 11. 23.08.2015 Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Rojia @ Sony R/o Village-Dialpura, Zirakpur, Distt. Mohali (Pb) from Green Belt, Dividing road, Sector-45 C&D, Chandigarh and recovered 7 Gram of Heroin from his possession. A Case FIR No. 420 U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. 12. 06.09.2015 Chandigarh Police (Crime Branch) arrested Harjit Singh R/o # 348, Sector-45-A, Chandigarh near Community Centre, Sector-45, Chandigarh and recovered 25 Gram of Heroin from his possession. A Case FIR No. 443 U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. 13. 21.09.2015 Chandigarh Police (Crime Branch) arrested Pawan Kumar R/o # 2356, MWT, MM, Chandigarh near Bus Stop, IT Park, MM, Chandigarh and recovered 250 Gram of Opium from his possession. A Case FIR No. 510 U/S 18 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Further investigation is going on. 14. 07.10.2015 Crime Branch arrested Arvind Kumar R/o # 2760, Sector-37-C, Chandigarh near Govt. Model School, Sector-37, Chandigarh and recovered 12 Gram of Smack from his possession. A Case FIR No.417 U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Further investigation is going on. 15. 20.10.2015 Crime Branch manned a trap near Petrol Pump, Sector-52, Chandigarh and succeeded in arresting accused namely Sanjeev Kumar and Rehmat Ali along with stolen Motor Cycle having registration No. PB65-M-3412 make Platina Bajaj and Activa having registration No. CH01-AD-2289, which were stolen vide FIR No. 377 dated 01.10.2015 u/s 379, 411 IPC, PS-36, Chandigarh & FIR No. 246 dated 05.07.2015 u/s 379,411 IPC, PS-36, Chandigarh, respectively. During the course of investigation, they have disclosed that they have stolen number of two wheelers from Chandigarh. Both the accused were produced in the court on 19.10.2015 and obtained 02 days police remand. During the course of investigation, 11 stolen two wheelers were recovered on their disclosure which led to solving of 8 cases of auto theft registered with different police station of the city. In the second incident, Crime Branch succeeded to arrest a notorious inter-state gold chain snatcher namely Dilshad s/o Badhi Shah R/o H.No. 32/3, Raipur Kalan, Chandigarh. On 14.10.2015, a naka was laid down near Railway Quarters, Mauli Jagran, UT/Chandigarh and recovered one gold chain from his possession which was snatched in case FIR No. 427 dated 25.08.2015 u/s 379, 356, 452,411 IPC, PS-34, Chandigarh. He was produced in the court on 15.10.2015 and obtained 04 days police remand. During interrogation, he disclosed that he along with one Vicky of Delhi had snatched number of gold chains from different places in the area of U.T.,Chandigarh. With the arrest of accused Dilshad, so far total 06 cases of snatching out of which 05 of gold chains and 01 mobile phone have been worked out on his instance. 16. 01.11.2015 In a major achievement the Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police managed to arrest Abrar Khan s/o Ishmaile Khan r/o Village Bholupur, Distt. Dabriya (UP), an under trial who alongwith four under trial accused persons managed to escaped from the Judicial Lock-up, District Court, Sector-43, Chandigarh. The accused was arrested from Airport Light Point. The accused was riding on motor cycle which was stolen from the area of Panchkula. This is the second arrest made by Chandigarh Police, With the arrest of accused Abrar Khan the following three cases have been worked out:- Case FIR No. 312/15 u/s 379,356,411 IPC, PS-31, Chandigarh, Case FIR No. 322 dated 30.10.2015 u/s 379,411 IPC, PS-31, Chandigarh, Case FIR No. 373 dated 23.09.2015 u/s 224,34 IPC, PS-36, Chandigarh In 2nd incident Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police managed to re-arrest Jeewan Singh @ Rimpy s/o Late Sh.
