Oberammergau STAGE 43 OBERAMMERGAU Land Baviera GARMISCH-PARTERNKIRCHEN Alta Baviera District Km 20 +366 -501 race E Oberammergau is home to a municipality of 5.290 inhabitants, situated in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria. This small town is famous for its high number of mural paintings on houses, for its traditional procession staging the Passion of Christ in the streets, for hosting a NATO school. This municipality is crossed by the Alpenstrasse , an O enchanting route 500 km long across the Bavarian and Austrian Alps. The town is also known for the skill of its wood sculptors. Oberammergau is famous for its “ Lüftlmalerei” or frescoes . The subjects of these frescoes follow the Bavarian religious tradition, of its fables and tromp l’oeil figures intended to puzzle the viewer. The practice of the Lüftlmalerei is typical of Bavaria and its name derives from a house in Oberammergau called Zum Lüftl which was the residence of a famous and much appreciated painter of façades called Franz Seraph Zwinck. 1 2 Oberammergau—Garmisch-Partenkirche 3 We leave the curious town walking along the Eugen Papst Strasse to reach the bridge by which we cross the river Ammer . Having crossed the river we turn on the left and take the cycling/pedestrian lane along the river which we follow for 2,3 km, we underpass the 23 and turn right 4 we follow the river Ammer for a further 900 m on a gravel lane, then turning sharp to the left, we cross the river on a footbridge and take the footpath which shortly after follows a small canal leading to an ancient water mill now converted into a restaurant. -

Welcome to Alpenwelt Karwendel! These two mountain bikers have had a good laugh. They are returning from a break at Vereiner Alm. In the deep south of Germany, at the border with Austria, a pleasant valley with undula- ting meadows, lakes and streams extends between rocky peaks, forested mountain flanks and hills. Alpenwelt Karwendel with the three Upper Bavarian municipalities of Mittenwald, Krün and Wallgau is surrounded by four mountain massifs: the Karwendel mountains and the Soiern group to the East, the Ester mountains to the North and the Wetterstein mountains to the South-West. Because of this, the region is the ideal starting point for all kinds of mountain bike and cycling tours. If you like to take it easy, you can linger in the valley between the flower meadows, lakes and the expansive river landscape of the Isar with its shingle and gravel banks. Bundesstraße B 2 München - Garmisch-Partenkirchen Neubau / Ausbau Zwischen Eschenlohe Und Oberau- Süd
Autobahndirektion Südbayern Informationen zu aktuellen Planungen Bundesstraße B 2 München - Garmisch-Partenkirchen Neubau / Ausbau zwischen Eschenlohe und Oberau- Süd Lage im Die Bundesstraße B 2 erstreckt sich von Berlin über Leipzig, Nürn- Netz berg, Augsburg und München bis nach Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Südlich von Eschenlohe bildet sie die Fortsetzung der Autobahn A 95 München - Garmisch-Partenkirchen und ist in diesem Bereich eine der wichtigen Verkehrsachsen. Vom Autobahnende bei Eschenlohe führt die B 2 entlang des Au- erbergs, dann durch Oberau, an Farchant vorbei, durch Garmisch- Partenkirchen und Mittenwald bis nach Österreich. Der Streckenzug wird vor allem vom Reiseverkehr in Richtung Süden frequentiert, insbesondere an Wochenenden kommt es wegen des großen Ver- kehrsaufkommens häufig zu Stauungen. Verkehr In Oberau beträgt die durchschnittliche tägliche Verkehrsstärke rund 21.200 Kfz/24h, die Spitzenbelastung an Wochenenden liegt noch deutlich darüber. Ohne Ausbau der B 2 liegt der DTV nach der Prog- nose im Jahr 2020 bei 30.200 Kfz/24h. Mit dem Bau der Umfahrung kann die Ortsdurchfahrt stark entlastet werden. Im Ort ist dann eine Verkehrsbelastung von zunächst rund 12.000 Kfz/24h zu erwarten, der DTV auf der Umfahrung beträgt 20.500 Kfz/24h. Mit der Verlegung der von Schongau kommenden B 23 aus dem Ort heraus, die vom Staatlichen Bauamt Weilheim ge- plant wird, nimmt die Verkehrsbelastung in Oberau dann nochmals sehr deutlich ab. Mit der Bewerbung Münchens für die Austragung der Olympischen Winterspiele 2018, bei denen die Skiwettbewerbe in Garmisch- Partenkirchen stattfinden würden, gewinnt das Projekt zusätzlich an Bedeutung, da eine gut funktionierende Infrastruktur die Grundlage für eine erfolgreiche Bewerbung und Austragung der Winterspiele ist. -

University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, Osten 18, D-85072 Goettingen, Germany [email protected] Abstract This paper deals with the influence of debris flows on fluvial sediment transport in a drainage basin in the Northern Limestone Alps, Germany. A high magnitude rainstorm event in the year 2002 triggered several debris flows on slopes and in channels. Weekly quantification of the sediment transport in small channels in the study area Lahnenwiesgraben since the year 2000, show a drastic increase in sediment yield after the debris flow event due to extremely high sediment mobiliza tion in the channel beds. The investigations show that erosion and deposition by debris flows also affect the long-term fluvial sediment budget. Debris flows change the state of the fluvial geomorphic system and induce prolonged high fluvial sediment transport. The composition of the transported sediment (organic content, granulometry) may also be modified. The interaction of geomorphic processes is an important issue in modelling sediment budgets and landform development.
