2017-18 MEN’S BASKETBALL MEDIA GUIDE WELCOME TO On behalf of the entire Illinois College community, it is my pleasure to welcome the student-athletes, coaches, parents and fans in attendance. We truly appreciate your support of Illinois College, the and the NCAA Division III athletics. We are extremely proud of our student-athletes at Illinois College. The Blueboys and Lady Blues strive for excellence on the playing field, as well as in the classroom and in the community. As a result, IC has continued to climb the ranks in the Midwest Conference’s All-Sports Standings, while increasing its number of academic all-conference awards and contributing to the vitality of the Jacksonville community. We are also very proud of the athletic facilities at Illinois College. Through the College’s dedication to fostering competitive athletic programs, and the financial investment of generous supporters, IC boasts some of the finest athletic facilities in Division III sports. Welcome to another exciting year of Illinois College Athletics! I am extremely excited for this winter season. Whether it’s in the pool, the basketball court or on the track, the student-athletes will be competing and battling for a Midwest Conference championship. Please join me in the warm confines of Bruner Fitness and Recreation Center to cheer on the Blueboys and Lady Blues. This year we return a crew of dedicated student-athletes looking to put their mark on IC Athletics. This group of young men and women have been working hard to hone their craft and help IC Athletics soar up the rankings in the Midwest Conference. These strong men and women make me proud to be part of the Blueboy and Lady Blue family. This is going to be an exciting year for the Blueboys and Lady Blues. In the 2016-17 season, Worrell picked up his 200th career coaching win at Illinois College.

Worrell and his wife, Stacey, reside in Jacksonville with their children: Alexandra, Sara and Lucas.

J.R. Dugan begins his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Illinois College men’s basketball team in 2017-18.

A 1992 graduate of Illinois College, Dugan was a four-year member of the IC men’s basketball program and ended his career with 1,037 points. He also starred as a track & field athlete, winning a national title in the high jump as a freshman in 1989. Dugan was inducted into the Illinois College Hall of Fame in 1999.

A teacher at Jacksonville High School, Dugan resides in Jacksonville with his wife, Jennifer – herself an IC Hall of Famer – and their three children. 2017-18 MEN’S BASKETBALL
