Aristide Lince I racconti dell’anonimo Innominato II di Aristide Lince Casa Borgato – Bruxelles Maggio 2009 1 Biografia Aristide Lince è lo pseudonimo di Luca Borgato, nato a Roma il 03/01/1992. Ha trascorso quasi tre anni in Mauritania (1992-1994), da dove, nel 1994 si è trasferito a Bruxelles, dove ora vive e frequenta la scuola europea di Uccle. Appassionato di musica, nel 1998 ha cominciato a studiare il piano, che ancora oggi suona. Quando ha compiuto 10 anni, ha deciso di scrivere dei racconti ispirati alle favole che gli raccontava suo padre quando lui aveva dai 6 agli 8 anni: tra questi, ricordiamo Romani contro Egiziani (2002), Accusa di inquinamento atmosferico (2002), Il tesoro della Repubblica (2005) e Romani contro Paperopolesi (2005). Ha scritto anche una ‘commedia-giallo’, Visita e rapimento (2006), che gli è venuta dando pseudonimi ai suoi compagni di classe. L’ idea di questo Innominato II (2008), gli è venuta da un gioco di computer, di nome GTA3. 2 La trama Liberty, isola di Staunton Island, ospedale di Rockford, 8h00 del mattino: nasce Skin, figlio di due membri della Yakuza, la mafia giapponese. Il giorno dopo i genitori vengono assassinati da due Yardie, acerrimi nemici della Yakuza, ma Skin viene salvato e adottato da due americani che vivono sull’isola di Portland. Egli fa i suoi studi a Portland e, dopo essere stato a New York per l’università, torna laureato e trova un lavoro a Staunton Island. Anni dopo viene licenziato ed il capo di una squadra criminale, gli va a proporre del lavoro per conto suo: è così che Skin comincia la sua vita criminale, durante la quale deve compiere qualsiasi genere di missione e tradire molte squadre criminali, facendosi una marea di nemici. Questa storia è narrata da un anonimo italiano, che, trasferitosi a Staunton Island per lavoro, ha partecipato al funerale di Skin ed ha chiesto al prete ed in seguito al sindaco di Liberty, della vita di Skin. La vita di Skin è simile a quella dell’Innominato, personaggio dei Promessi Sposi, che, da criminale, diventa buono grazie alla conversione che ha avuto durante il suo incontro con il cardinale di Milano Federigo Borromeo (1564- 1631). Personaggi senza nome - Un paparazzo; - Una spia di Asuka; - Un vecchietto orientale, amico di Donal Love; - La fidanzata di Skin. 5 I luoghi della storia I luoghi della storia sono tre isole dell’oceano Atlantico, Portland, Staunton Island e Shoreside Vale, al largo di New York, che costituiscono la città di Liberty; su ogni città sono presenti delle squadre criminali: Diablo, Triade e Mafia a Portland; Yardie, Cartello e Yakuza a Staunton Island; Hood e Cartello a Shoreside Vale. Le tre isole sono collegate dal tunnel sottomarino e dai ponti Callahan e St Andreas. 6 A zio Peppino A nonna Natalina A mastro Peppe 7 Introduzione Funerale e presentazione “È diventato criminale a causa del suo incontro con il capo dei Diablo. Ha lavorato per loro, che ha in seguito tradito, per gli Yardie da cui è stato tradito, per i Red Jack dai quali non si è più fatto vedere, per la Mafia che ha tradito e, infine, per la Yakuza. Si è fatto quindi molti nemici: i Diablo, gli Yardie, la Triade, la Mafia ed il Cartello, ed ha pagato caro! Voi tutti partecipanti starete provando una gioia immensa per esservi liberati di lui! Ma almeno, anche se non sentiremo la sua mancanza, preghiamo per questo disgraziato, affinché Dio gli perdoni i suoi peccati!”, così diceva don Edmund, prete e parroco della chiesa di Saint Catherine di Staunton Island. Ed io, che sono uno di quelle cinquemila persone che partecipa al funerale di questo disgraziato, vorrei, prima di raccontarvi la sua storia, presentarmi e dirvi come l’ho saputa. Sono nato nel 1950, a Palermo, dove ho frequentato materna, elementare, medie e liceo scientifico. Nel 1968 mi sono spostato a Roma, per frequentare la Sapienza1, dove mi sono laureato in architettura. In seguito, ho lavorato a Roma, per poi arrivare a Staunton Island, nel 1995. Mi è rimasta però la mia grande passione per lo studio sulla criminalità organizzata. Dal discorso di don Edmund, mi è sembrato che egli fosse ben informato sul defunto. Sono andato, quindi, da lui, con cui ho fatto amicizia. Egli, di dieci anni più vecchio di me, ha ammesso di essere stato informato dal sindaco in persona e mi ha suggerito di andare da quest’ultimo, perché sa sicuramente più di lui. Sono andato quindi dal sindaco, ho chiesto del criminale. Egli mi ha riferito minutamente nome, cognome, data di nascita, i suoi genitori, come era divenuto criminale e tutte le missioni che aveva compiuto. È così che io sono riuscito a scrivere questo romanzo che è semplicemente la biografia di questa persona. Quindi, amici lettori, se volete conoscerla, seguitemi in questo itinerario! 1 ) Università di Roma. 8 Capitolo I Luoghi e nascita Ci troviamo su quelle coste dell’oceano Atlantico, più precisamente, dalla parte di New York, dove, di fronte all’omonima città, si trovano tre isolette, note come Portland, Staunton Island e Shoreside Vale, sulle quali sorge la città di Liberty. Queste isole sono collegate tra loro da due ponti: il ponte Callahan, che unisce la prima con la seconda, ed il ponte St Andreas, che unisce la seconda con la terza; chi ha intenzione di passare direttamente dalla prima alla terza, basta che usi il tunnel sottomarino, che corre quasi parallelo alle isole ed ha uno sbocco su ognuna; tutti gli sbocchi si incontrano in un punto sott’acqua (la terza isola ne ha due). Portland è la zona industriale, in cui son situati gli impianti portuali, i magazzini, le fabbriche, i mercati e numerosi garage. Questa area è popolata da donnicciole, operai portuali, politici corrotti e gentaglia d’ogni tipo. Staunton Island è la zona centrale degli affari, il territorio dei ricchi, dei potenti e delle multinazionali; è qui che si svolgono tutte le più importanti transazioni commerciali di Liberty. Durante il giorno, quest'area pullula di uomini d'affari intenti alle loro attività quotidiane, che io non sto ad elencarvi per non annoiarvi. Di notte, è una zona buia, desolata e molto pericolosa. Shoreside Vale è la beata e tranquilla periferia di Liberty. Questa zona, in cui risiedono molti dei più ricchi gangster della città, è un susseguirsi di piscine, giardini ben curati, campetti di pallacanestro, bande di criminali di strada e parcheggi. È costellata da ville dal lusso ostentato, protette da agenti della sicurezza e cancelli che impediscono l'accesso alle bande di annoiati adolescenti in cerca di qualcosa che porti un po' di emozione nelle loro esistenze borghesi, cioé, danaro. I cani dall'alta genealogia e le stazioni della metro danno una superficiale aria di serenità a questi sobborghi, ma non lasciatevi ingannare, amici lettori: la violenza e la corruzione albergano in ogni magione; dopo tutto, siamo in una città che non meriterebbe tal nome. L’aspetto negativo di questa città, è che alcuni dei suoi quartieri sono dominati dalla criminalità organizzata. A Portland, i quartieri di Hepburn Heights, Chinatown e Saint Mark sono dominati rispettivamente dai Diablo, dalla Triade e dalla Mafia; sono risparmiati i quartieri di Callahan Point, Atlantic quays, Trenton, il porto di Portland, Portland view, il Distretto a luci rosse e Harwood. La criminalità è molto diffusa a Portland; il Distretto a luci rosse è stato per molto tempo sotto il controllo della Mafia, ma la Triade sta cercando di prendere il sopravvento. Da diversi mesi è in corso una lotta sanguinosa. 9 A Staunton Island, i quartieri di Newport, Torrington e Fort Staunton sono rispettivamente dominati dagli Yardie, dalla Yakuza e dal Cartello; sono risparmiati i quartieri di Bedford point, Belleville park, Aspatria, University e Rockford. A Shoreside Vale, i quartieri di Cedar Grove e di Wichita gardens sono rispettivamente dominati dallo stesso Cartello e dagli Hood, divisi rispettivamente in Nine e Red Jack; sono risparmiati i quartieri di Francis airport, Pike Creek e Cochrane dam. Ogni isola ha un ospedale ed un tribunale: a Portland si trovano a Portland view, a Staunton Island si trovano il primo a Rockford ed il secondo a Torrington, a Shoreside Vale si trovano a Pike Creek.

In these films, downtown black cinema Kingston, the impoverished inner-city of Jamaica’s capital, has been ghetto aesthetics commonly portrayed as an ambivalent crime-ridden-but-music-driven space, violent yet vibrant. DE FREITAS DISRUPTING "THE NATION" : GENDER TRANSFORMATIONS IN THE TRINIDAD CARNIVAL INTRODUCTION Annually, between the Christian seasons of Christmas and Lent, the twin- island "nation" of Trinidad and Tobago devotes a considerable amount of resources and energy to Carnival activities.1 A season in its own right, the Carnival culminates in a two-day street celebration marked by music, dancing, and masquerade performances. Historically, Trinidad's Carnival2 has served as a social barometer of sorts, registering the ethos, fantasies, ideals, and contests of the society, what Victor Turner (1986:41) has called the hopelessly intermingled indicative and subjunctive "moods" of a culture. In turn, Carnival has had a profound effect on the Self-conscious- ness and behavior of Trinidadians as a people. Each year, Carnival is known, and sometimes expected, to generate a controversy or highly con- tentious issue. Some controversies are year-specific and often confined to the organizational bodies responsible for the planning and performance of the Carnival.
