People take part in adult learning for many different reasons; to learn a new skill, to find a new interest, meet new people, gain a qualification or get into work. We also offer Information, Advice and Guidance to help you choose the right course for you and let you know about other opportunities available. Dudley Adult and Community Learning team provides opportunities for adults and families in the borough to gain new skills for learning and work. Over 5000 people learn with us each year. We support our learners and communities to identify and achieve their learning aims and improve their work opportunities, health and well being and social interaction. We deliver courses throughout the year at many community venues in the borough. Some courses are very popular and fill up quickly so it is a good idea to enrol as early as you can. Have a look through the brochure to find a course for you or search on our website at: www.dudley.gov.uk/adultlearning To book a place: • contact the centre where the course is being held (full contact details for each centre can be found on page 5 opposite); or • telephone 01384 818143; or • visit our website at www.dudley.gov.uk/adultlearning To book on line you will need to register your details and create a log-in password. The course fee will be payable at the start of the course. Payment is by cash or cheque. Debit and credit cards are accepted in some centres - please call the centre for more details. You may qualify for free courses, reduced fees, learning loans or other financial help. For some courses you may need to sit an initial assessment before you enrol - for example English, maths and ESOL. This is to check which level you are currently working at to ensure you are enrolled on the right course for you. gain a qualification learn a new skill meet new people Fees and concessions Please see individual courses for details of course fees. Concessions may be available for people who recieve certain means tested benefits. A 1.2% charge will be added to all credit card payments. There is no charge for debit cards. If you are aged 24 or over you may qualify for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan. Please see general information section on page 26 for more details.
