War Memorial Monument (1914-18 & 1939-45) is situated in the centre of the Town of , Essex, at the intersection of High Street and New Street.

Layout: Inscriptions: 1914-1918 & 1939-1945 and salutation details are on the front -side 1/lower section which faces north east; the Rolls of Honour are located on the upper section of side 1, and the upper and lower sections of sides 2 & 3; there is no indication on the Monument which names relate to 1914-18 or 1939-45, however, from information gained from another source, the names in the upper section of sides 1, 2 & 3 relate to 1914-18 and the names in the lower section of sides 2 & 3 relate to 1939-45.

Approximate size: height (overall) 20 ft; base width 2¾ ft; (note: monument's cross-section is triangular with truncated corners).
