Aggadeta ,comprises those sections of the Talmud that deal with faith, wisdom מנחה נוסח מורקו Moroccan Mincha after shacharit & kiddush ethical behavior, practical advice, etc. These sections are often מנחה ושיעור הרב Mincha & Shiur 4:25 pm glossed over in Talmudic study because they may seem simplistic, R’ Pruzansky’s shiur “Settling Scores” following mincha mystical, or inscrutable. Tuesday’s session focused on a shiur that was given at the Moriah Synagogue in Manhattan in 1955. The text was from The discussion was about the importance of .מסכת ברכות figurative self-sacrifice, and one’s self-identification ,מסירת נפש as a Jew, as they impact the efficacy of our Tefillot.
The participants have decided not to set arbitrary milestones for going through the recorded lectures. They will meet monthly to listen to and discuss the shiurim, without the pressure of completing their study by a specific date. There were over thirty attendees at Tuesday’s session. Their knowledge of Yiddish varied but even some of those who felt they had a reasonable background in Yiddish had intermittent difficulty understanding some of the Rav’s expressions. Tuly and Sol will continue to “tweak” both the recordings and the chavura’s methodology to make these fascinating shiurim of a true Torah giant understandable. The goal is to make each chavura session self-contained so that new participants can join at any time. The next session is scheduled for February 11th.
