Super League SUPER LEAGUE ARCADE: FIGHT EDITION Official Rules Version 1.5; 11/23/2019 1 Introduction and Purpose These Official Rules (“Rules”) of the Super League (“SLG”) SUPER LEAGUE ARCADE: FIGHT EDITION (“SLA:FE”) apply to each player who enters to play in the event. These Rules apply only to official SLA:FE play and not to other competitions, tournaments or organized play of STREET FIGHTER V & SUPER SMASH BROTHERS: ULTIMATE (“STREET FIGHTER V & SUPER SMASH BROTHERS: ULTIMATE” or the “game”). Super League Gaming, a Delaware company, has established these Rules for the competitive play of STREET FIGHTER V & SUPER SMASH BROTHERS: ULTIMATE in order to unify and standardize the rules used in SLA:FE competitive play. These Rules are designed solely to ensure the integrity of the system established by the SLA:FE for play of STREET FIGHTER V & SUPER SMASH BROTHERS: ULTIMATE and create a competitive balance among the players. Standardized rules benefit all parties who are involved in the play of STREET FIGHTER V & SUPER SMASH BROTHERS: ULTIMATE. 1.0 Competition Eligibility 1.1 Association Regulations All participants must be registered to a team via the Super League platform, located https://www.superleague.com/super-league-arcade-fight-edition/. 1.2 Eligibility Rules 1.2.1 Age Requirement In order to be eligible to compete in SLA:FE, players must be at least 13 years old as of the event date. 1.2.2 Equipment Players will be granted use of a PC during SLA:FE that meet or exceed the following specifications: • 3 GHz processor • 4GB of RAM • 12 GB available hard disk space • Nvidia GeForce 8800/AMD Radeon HD 5670 or equivalent video card (Dedicated GPU with 512MB or higher Video Memory (VRAM)) • Support for DirectX v9.0c or better • Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10 with the latest service pack installed OR Mac OS X 10.8 or higher. 1.2.3 CAPCOM & NINTENDO Disciplinary Status Players may not have any current disciplinary suspension from CAPCOM & NINTENDO affiliated competitions. 2 1.3 No Professionals Players may not be active competitors in a STREET FIGHTER V & SUPER SMASH BROTHERS: ULTIMATE professional circuit or have an active contract with a professional organization or competition. 2.0 Prizes 2.1 Eligible Recipients Prizes will be distributed based on a participant performance in the competition. Players must attend the in person SLA:FE event in order to be eligible for prizes. 2.2 Prize Breakdown 2.2.1 1v1 Street Fighter V Tournament Participants who place 1st through 3rd will receive amazon gift cards of varying value according to the following table: Free Tier Prizing $10 Tier Prizing $20 Tier Prizing 1st Place $50 $100 $200 2nd Place $30 $60 $120 3rd Place $10 $20 $60 2.2.2 1v1 Super Smash Brothers: Ultimate Tournament Participants who place 1st through 3rd will receive amazon gift cards of varying value according to the following table: Free Tier Prizing $10 Tier Prizing $20 Tier Prizing 1st Place $50 $100 $200 2nd Place $30 $60 $120 3rd Place $10 $20 $60 2.2.3 Super League Arcade Challenge Prizes Two $20 Amazon Gift Cards will be raffled amongst Super League Arcade Challenge Participants at the end of the event. 2.3 Retail Value of Prizing The prizing items hold a total approximate retail value of up to $800.00 USD. 3.0 Player Commitment and Usernames 3.1 Player Commitment 3 Players are required to attend, in person, each event day on the dates and times of the SLA:FE schedule for as long as their team remains uneliminated from the event. 3.2 Lateness and Absence It is the responsibility of the participants to be ready for match times as directed by SLA:FE officials. Failure to be present for match times as they occur may result in penalties (see section 7.7). 3.3 No Refunds By entering the SLA:FE competition, you are making the commitment detailed in 3.1 above. No refund of entry fee shall be provided for any reason. 3.4 Sponsorships No SLA:FE player may acquire any sponsors in conjunction with their play in the event. 4.0 SLA:FE Structure 4.1 Definition of Terms Game: An instance of multiplayer competition within STREET FIGHTER V & SUPER SMASH BROTHERS: ULTIMATE. 4.2 1v1 Tournaments The total number of participating teams in the 1v1 tournaments will be capped at a pre- defined number of teams, priority will be given to teams on a paid basis first, followed by a first come first serve basis for free ticket holders on the day at the venue for tournament entry. Street Fighter V and Super Smash Brothers Ultimate 1v1 tournaments will be held in double or single elimination competition structures based on event attendance on a case by case basis. 4.2.1 Double Elimination Structure If the total participating team count is a pre-defined number or lower the 1v1 tournament structure will follow a traditional double elimination best of 1 structure. 4.2.1.1 Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Specifications Best-of-one with each player having three stock. No items will be allowed during competition play. A best-of-one rock paper scissors game will be played to determine which participant picks the competition stage. Participants can choose any of the following stages: Battlefield Final Destination 4 Pokémon Stadium 2 Smashville Town and City Kalos Pokémon League Yoshi's Island Lylat Cruise Unova Pokémon League Yoshi's Story Additional stages may be used in the competition if, and only if, both participants mutually agree on using any other stage. 4.2.2 Single Elimination Structure If the total participating team count is a pre-defined number or higher the 1v1 tournament structure will follow a traditional single elimination best of 1 structure. 4.3 Super League Arcade Challenge Structure Participants will attempt to achieve a pre-defined goal within a minigame or range of minigames during the event. If the participant achieves or surpasses the pre-defined goal in a minigame they will receive a raffle ticket. Participants may collect multiple raffle tickets, but may only receive one raffle ticket per minigame. 5.0 Match Process 5.1 Role of Referees Referees are SLA:FE officials who are responsible for making judgments on every match-related issue, question and situation which occurs before, during, and immediately following match play. 5.1.1 Referee Responsibilities Referee oversight may include, but is not limited to the following: 5.1.1.1 Team Lineup Check Checking the team’s lineup before a match. 5.1.1.2 Official Match Start Announcing the beginning of the match. 5.1.1.3 Pause/Resume Gameplay Oversight Overseeing pause/resume during play. 5 5.1.1.4 Deliver Penalties Issuing penalties in response to Rule violations before, during, or after the match. 5.1.1.5 End of Match Confirmation Confirming the end of the match and its results. 5.1.2 Referee Comportment At all times, referees shall conduct themselves in a professional manner, and shall issue rulings in an impartial manner. No passion or prejudice will be shown towards any player, team, or other individual. 5.1.3 Finality of Judgment If a referee makes an incorrect judgment, the judgment can be subject to reversal. SLA:FE officials at their discretion may evaluate the decision during or after the match to determine if the proper procedure was implemented to allow for a fair decision. If the proper procedure was not followed, SLA:FE officials reserve the right to potentially invalidate the referee’s decision. SLA:FE officials will always maintain final say in all decisions set forth throughout the SLA:FE. 5.1.4 Gambling Prohibition All rules prohibiting gambling on STREET FIGHTER V & SUPER SMASH BROTHERS: ULTIMATE, as found below in Section 9, shall apply to referees without limitation. 5.2 Competitive Patch & Server SLA:FE will be played on the North America live servers. As such, the current STREET FIGHTER V & SUPER SMASH BROTHERS: ULTIMATE patch will be used for all competitive play. 5.3 Setup and Player Responsibilities for Matches All players will be expected to be seated in the arena and ready to join the game lobby at the time specified by the SLA:FE officials. Readiness includes, but is not limited to, player having completed client patching and configuration of in-game settings. 5.3.1 Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Specifications/Format Format is double elimination, Best-of-one with each player having three stock. No items will be allowed during competition play. A best-of-one rock paper scissors game will be played to determine which participant picks the competition stage. Participants can choose any of the following stages: Battlefield 6 Final Destination Pokémon Stadium 2 Smashville Town and City Kalos Pokémon League Yoshi's Island Lylat Cruise Unova Pokémon League Yoshi's Story Additional stages may be used in the competition if, and only if, both participants mutually agree on using any other stage. 5.4 No Streaming Players are not permitted to stream their tournament matches publicly or privately on any platform or service. Players may stream personal or professional recordings of the match after the broadcast has officially completed once they are no longer using arena bandwidth. 5.5 Game Setup Game lobbies will be set up by SLA:FE Officials in advance of game start. 5.5.1 Participant Game Preparation SLA:FE Officials will instruct upcoming game participants in advance of their matches to be prepared for upcoming matches, described as ‘on-deck’. SLA:FE Officials will then instruct participants who are on-deck to the appropriate game station for their game.
