Destiny was such that I was born in Shkodra because my family, my mother and father moved there before the Second World War, they moved to Albania and settled in Shkodra. That’s where I was born. Two years later we moved to Skopje where my brother Genc was born and after two other years we moved to Prizren and then from Prizren we moved to Gjakova, which was the hometown of my mother and my father, then I continued elementary school in Prizren. And the Shkolla e Mesme e Artit1 in the beautiful Peja, after five years of studying there I went to University at the University of Arts in Belgrade, there I spent five years studying in the same academy. Then, I finished the Masters Degree, I mean the post—graduation studies and in the meantime there was an open call all around Yugoslavia according to which the Japanese government was giving a scholarship for a two year artistic residency in Japan, I won it and went to Japan to study for two years. -

Janz is professor of religious studies at Loyola University, New Orleans, · Louisiana. From the time of its inception as a discipline, the scientific study of religion has raised the question of the universality of religion. Are human beings somehow naturally religious? Has there ever been a truly religionless society? Is modernity itself inimical to religion, leading slowly but nevertheless inexorably to its extinction? Or does a fundamental human religiosity survive and mutate into ever new forms, as it adapts itself to the exigencies of the age? There are as of yet no clear answers to these questions. And religiologists continue to search for the irreligious society, or at least for the society in which religion is utterly devoid of any social significance, where the religious sector is a tiny minority made up largely of elderly people and assorted marginal figures. -

Illyrian-Albanian Continuity on the Areal of Kosova 29 Illyrian-Albanian Continuity on the Areal of Kosova
Illyrian-Albanian Continuity on the Areal of Kosova 29 Illyrian-Albanian Continuity on the Areal of Kosova Jahja Drançolli* Abstract In the present study it is examined the issue of Illyrian- Albanian continuity in the areal of Kosova, a scientific problem, which, due to the reasons of daily policy, has extremely become exploited (harnessed) until the present days. The politicisation of the ancient history of Kosova begins with the Eastern Crisis, a time when the programmes of Great-Serb aggression for the Balkans started being drafted. These programmes, inspired by the extra-scientific history dressed in myths, legends and folk songs, expressed the Serb aspirations to look for their cradle in Kosova, Vojvodina. Croatia, Dalmatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina and Montenegro. Such programmes, based on the instrumentalized history, have always been strongly supported by the political circles on the occasion of great historical changes, that have overwhelmed the Balkans. Key Words: Dardania and Dardans in antiquity, Arbers and Kosova during the Middle Ages, geopolitical, ethnic, religious and cultural concepts, which are known in the sources of that time followed by a chronological development. The region of Kosova preserves archeological monuments from the beginnings of Neolith (6000-2600 B.C.). Since that time the first settlements were constructed, including Tjerrtorja (Prishtinë), Glladnica (Graçanicë), Rakoshi (Istog), Fafos and Lushta (Mitrovicë), Reshtan and Hisar (Suharekë), Runik (Skenderaj) etc. The region of Kosova has since the Bronze Age been inhabited by Dardan Illyrians; the territory of extension of this region was much larger than the present-day territory of Kosova. * Prof. Jahja Drançolli Ph. Language Policiy for the Tendency of the Sound Complex in the Albanian Anthroponymy and Patronymic
ISSN 2411-9598 (Print) European Journal of May-August 2017 ISSN 2411-4103 (Online) Language and Literature Studies Volume 3 Issue 2 Language Policiy for the Tendency of the Sound Complex in the Albanian Anthroponymy and Patronymic Prof. Phd. Nexhip Mërkuri Elira Xhakollari University “Ismail.Qemali” Vlorë Albania Abstract The authors reflects on the progress of anthroponymy and patronomy sounds tendency and its applied linguistic policy in the last century and the beginning of the new millennium. The research is carried out in two periods: during and post-communism. The authors have done a long-time research on this topic, which has resulted in an accurate argumentative discourse on pre-linguistic choices of these sonoric complex usages in family discourse. The authors have listed carefully the entry of Illyrian/Albanian names and the tendency of sonoric usages, which were part of language planning process; and everything is argued on the basis of national spirit of the time. The linguistic policy of entering of Illyrian names into family discourse is also seen as a general trend of Renaissance (1730-1912) for the purpose of restoring historic memory to Albanians. After the 1990-s, the beginning of democracy in Albania, nonetheless the publishing of the study on newborn names, the linguistic policy has never been applied for many reasons. For the last two years, 2015-2016, linguistics, students, surveyors, educational secretaries, members of civil status, have listed a number of reasons on the choices of the names of newborns in Albania. The freedom of choice of the sonoric complex, the trend of names, the tendency of names in the western world, emigration, etc., are some of the reasons to justify the choices and the linguistic behavior of sonoric complexes. -

Interview with Mihane Salihu-Bala
INTERVIEW WITH MIHANE SALIHU-BALA Pristina| Date: March 9, 2018 Duration: 130 minutes Present: 1. Mihane Salihu-Bala (Speaker) 2. Aurela Kadriu (Interviewer) 3. Donjetë Berisha (Camera) Transcription notation symbols of non-verbal communication: () – emotional communication {} – the speaker explains something using gestures. Other transcription conventions: [ ] - addition to the text to facilitate comprehension Footnotes are editorial additions to provide information on localities, names or expressions. Part One Aurela Kadriu: Please introduce yourself, name, last name, and if you can please tell us something about your early childhood memories. Your family background, the setting you grew up in? Mihane Salihu-Bala: I am Mihane Nartilë Salihu Bala. I was born in Pristina and grew up in the Kodra e Trimave [The Brave’s Hill] neighborhood, formerly known as Vranjevc. I come from an ordinary family, to say conditionally. I am the oldest child of the family, we are six children from my mother. One special thing about me is that I grew up at my mother’s house, and this mindset, having happened in the ‘70s and ‘80s, somehow carried out my personal formation. Because compared to the mindset of that time, growing up at your mother’s house was different, and this is what characterizes my childhood. Otherwise, I was a spoiled child, very dynamic, rebellious and curious. But because of the circumstances that I grew up in, there were not many relatives close to us. And with the absence of maternal aunts and paternal uncles, we found a replacement somewhere else, at our extended cousins of my mother’s family…and this is how I generally grew up. -
