FLCC GOLFING GUIDELINES

The Rules and Policies section of the Membership Handbook contains all policies related to golfing at Fawn Lake Country Club. The document is currently being reviewed and rewritten. The following are some highlighted policies, but all golfers are responsible for clarifying rules and policies with the Head Professional prior to play.

GENTLEMEN’S ATTIRE - Shirts with collars and sleeves or neat collarless shirts (no shirts) - Shirts tucked in at all times - No denim jeans - Slacks or shorts (no more than 4 inches above knee) - Slacks and shorts should have belt loops and be belted - Golf shoes or sneakers with socks or peds. Metal golf spikes are prohibited - Hats worn appropriately with brim forward and removed in buildings LADIES’ ATTIRE -Shirts may have sleeves or be sleeveless with/without collars -No tee shirts or tank tops -Slacks or shorts (no more than 4 inches above knee) -No denim jeans -Golf skirts (no more than 4 inches above knee) -Slacks and shorts with belt loops should be belted -Golf shoes or sneakers with socks or peds. Metal golf spikes are prohibited

GOLF CART POLICIES

1. Golf carts will not be used by a Member or Guest on the Club Facilities without proper assignment and registration in the . 2. Each operator of a golf cart must be at least sixteen years of age and have a valid automobile driver's license. 3. Members or Guests under age 16 operating golf carts will be requested to leave the . Only two persons and two sets of golf clubs are permitted per golf cart. 4. Always use the golf cart paths where provided, especially around and greens. Without exception, all golf carts must remain on golf cart paths on 3 holes. 5. The Rough. Diving in the rough should be done very minimally, and generally only to enter and exit the fairway. Never park the cart in the rough and never enter the rough opposite the cart paths. 6. The 90-Degree Rule is as follows: a) Follow the path from the tee until you reach a point roughly 90 Degrees from your ball. Exit the path at this point and proceed to your ball. b) Keep your cart in the fairway as you continue play. c) Do not on the rough except when crossing from or to the path at a 90 Degree angle. d) As soon as your ball is on or near the green, return to the cart path at a 90 Degree angle. e) Never drive beyond the "Exit Here" markers on the fairways or the white topped exit posts located on each hole. These mark your "last exit point", but you may exit before these signs at a 90-Degree angle. 7. Never drive a golf cart through a , standing water, or low wet areas.

8. Operation of a golf cart is at the risk of the operator. Cost of repair to a FLCC golf cart that is damaged by a Member, Dependent, or Guest will be charged to the sponsoring Member. Members, or those they sponsor, will be held fully responsible for any and all damages. The Member responsible for use of a golf cart accepts and assumes all responsibility for liability connected with the operation of the golf cart. 9. When the "Carts On Path Only" signs are posted, they must be strictly followed. 10. "Course Closed" or "Hole Closed" signs are to be adhered to without exception as are the signs defining the cart access to the course as “CODE YELLOW” or “CODE RED” posted on the first and tenth tee boxes.

CODE YELLOW – Only two carts are allowed on the fairways. CODE RED – Carts must remain on cart paths.

11. “Pull carts” or other forms of mechanical carts are not permitted on the greens. 12. Monday play is restricted to Full Golf and Sports Members only. Guests of Full Golf or Sports Members, Social Members and non-member property owners may not play on Mondays.

Golf Course Etiquette:

1. All golfers should do their part to make golf at Fawn Lake Country Club a pleasant experience for everyone. 2. Players are expected to behave in a respectful and courteous manner at all times. 3. Place all trash, including tobacco products, in proper receptacles on the course or on the cart. 4. Enjoy your game but please play efficiently and in a timely manner by following these guidelines: a) Anticipate clubs you may need when you go to your ball. b) Read your putt as you approach the green and be ready to putt when it is your turn. c) Reserve extended conversations for after play. d) Park your cart to best facilitate play--usually behind the green. e) Proceed to the next hole without delay on the green. f) Record your score at the next tee. g) Unless you must hold your place on the course, allow faster players to play through.
