June 23: Arrive in Abu Dhabi. Check in Hotel.

June 24: Lecture/teaching session by professors Obeid and Timani. Visiting the all white Zayed Mosque to learn about the role of women in the mosque and (Teaching/lectures: 240 minutes). Reading: Joseph, Foreword and Preface.

June 25: traveling to , the UNESCO’s cultural capital of the Arab and Islamic world: A visit to Sharjah Museum and Islamic Civilization, which holds thousands of rare and important Islamic artifacts. You can learn about aspects of Islamic faith, science, discoveries and culture and the contribution of women in these areas; a visit to Sharjah heritage museum, which emphasizes the value of the deep rooted Arab customs and traditions and how that customs and traditions define the role of women; (Lectures: 240 minutes). June 26: Traveling to Dubai. A visit to the American University of Dubai to attend lectures on the role of women in society; back to Sharjah (teaching/lectures: 240 minutes). Reading: Chapter 2, The Pitfalls of the Nationalist Discourses on Citizenship in .

June 27: A visit to American University at Sharjah; visits with female professors and students. Lectures/discussions: Women and education/women in the public sphere (240 minutes). Reading: Chapter 3, Citizenship and Gender in Algeria.

June 28: Traveling to Umm al-Quwain. Visiting the citadel of “Falj al-Ma’ala” built in 1880 (an example of how much of the remains unknown and unexplored by the outside world) (teaching/lectures: 240 minutes). Reading: Chapter 4, Becoming a Citizen: Tunisia and

June 29: Visiting the Dubai Women Council (Lectures/interviews: 240 minutes). Reading: Chapter 5, The Islamic State and Gender Citizenship in Sudan.

June 30: Traveling back to Abu Dhabi. Visiting New York University in Abu Dhabi and meetings with female educators and students (teaching/lectures: 240 minutes). Free time and dinner (dinner is not included). Reading: Chapter 6, Civic Myths, Citizenship, and Gender in Lebanon.

July 1: Visiting Abu Dhabi Heritage Village; Abu Dhabi Museum and the Emirates Palace (teaching/lectures: 240 minutes). Reading: Chapters 10, and 11, Citizenship and Gender in and UAE.
