CLOTHING DRIVE FOR HOMELESS Our friends at Ladles of Love are collecting winter clothers and blankets to be handed out at their special Mandela Day event on Thursday, 18 July . BREAD BUDDIES - WEDNESDAY, 17 JULY Interact will be hosting a special bread buddies for Mandela Day in long tutor on Wednesday, 17 July. Please send a loaf of bread and spreads (peanut butter, jam, etc.) with your child on Wednesday morning. The sandwiches will be distributed to schools and creches in our community in need, as well via Ladles of Love Soup Kitchen LADLES OF LOVE SOUP KITCHEN TAKEOVER - THURSDAY, 25 JULY We are going to be taking over the Ladles of Love Thursday night Soup Kitchen at The Haven Night Shelter in Green Point. Ms. Samu and the Catering Society kids will be making up the food to be served there, and then members of Interact and the PR Team will be going through in the school bus to serve at the night shelter. We need your help to make this successful. Early next week, we will send all parents an invitation via KARRI to donate money towards purchasing ingredients for making up the food. Even if you can only donate R6.70 – that is fine but you are welcome to donate as much as you would like. If this project is a success, we plan to take over the running of a soup kitchen within our local community on a regular basis. Over this week we will have a board in the foyer with a poster picture of Nelson Mandela and we are asking all pupils to write what they are personally going to do this week and into the future to help others and make South Africa a better place. They can write their pledge on a sticky note and put it up next to the picture. Hopefully in this way we will all do something small that will add together to make a big impact. MATRIC DANCE ( SATURDAY 13 JULY 2019) We are delighted to be holding this year’s Matric Dance at The Rotunda on Saturday 13 July 2019 starting at 6pm.
