Gold Coast Aquatic Centre COMMONWEALTH GAMES Between 4 and 15 April 2018, 6,600 athletes and officials from 70 nations and territories will compete in the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018). GC2018 will feature 18 sports which will be viewed by an estimated global television audience of 1.5 billion people and include the largest integrated para-sport program in Commonwealth Games’ history. The Queensland Government has committed a total of $1.5B to deliver GC2018, with three new venues and the Games village supporting more than 2,000 jobs during construction. Of the $657 million in construction contracts for the venues and Games Village, approximately 90% of the value has been awarded to businesses. The Government is committed to maximising the benefits from hosting GC2018 and raise awareness of Queensland as a trade and investment partner, including through Trade 2018, in partnership with .
