2018-19 [IN PURSUIT of EXCELLENCE] ESOTERIC 2018-19, Inauguration Function Was Held on 9Th AUGUST 2018 for Which Honored Chief Guest Was Mr NAAC awards A+ Grade to Surana College The National Assessment and Accreditation Council accredits higher education institutions based upon seven criteria - Curricular Aspects, Teaching-Learning and Evaluation, Research, Innovations and Extension, Infrastructure and Learning Resources, Student Support and Progression, Governance, Leadership and Management, Institutional Values and Best Practices. From July 2017, NAAC has revamped its process and introduced 70 percent assessment through Data Verification and Validation. The rest of the 30 percent is evaluated through a Peer team visit by eminent academicians based on the responses to certain Qualitative Metrics. The Peer team of NAAC visited Surana College on the 29th and 30th of April 2019. The outcome of the Assessment and Accreditation exercise of the institution has been processed and approved by the Standing Committee constituted by the Executive Committee to examine the peer team reports and declare the accreditation results. Surana College has been Accredited with a CGPA of 3.49 on a seven point scale at A+ Grade valid for a period of 5 years GCS Conclave 2019 The GCS Conclave and 2nd transformational leadership summit and award ceremony was held on 27th April 2019 at Hotel Sheraton, Bengaluru. It marked the 78th Birth anniversary of the Founder Chairman of Microlabs and Surana Education institutions, Sri G C Surana Ji. Justice Sri.M.N.Venkatachaliah, Padma Vibhushan awardee graced the occasion and received the G C Surana Award. Padma Shri awardee Dr.A.S.Kiran Kumar, Vikram Sarabhai Professor, ISRO/Member, Space Commission (GOI), Former Chairman of ISRO gave the valedictory address “Innovation in Higher Education-India2020“ and received the Life Time Achievement Award. Sri.Veereshananda Saraswati Swamiji, President, Ramakrishna Ashram gave the key note address on “Industry – Academia expedition”. Mr C Mahalingham, Founder and CEO, Executive Coach and Global Advisor, Lead Theatre Consultancy delivered the GC Surana memorial lecture. A Panel discussion on “Industry 4.0: Industry–Academia Collaboration: New Era Opportunities and Challenges Demystified” was well discussed by the panel members - Sri Putturaju, Dr. Prakash K Nair, Mr.Nagana Gouda and Ms.Neela Kishore. But the place appealed to Anish Victor, a 37-year-old Indian theater director. The decrepit bungalow was just up the road from a string of neon-lit pubs in downtown Bangalore, a few blocks away from the hulking skeleton of a metro line under construction. Mr. Victor and his cast decided it would be an excellent spot to stage "Middle of Somewhere," a play about memory and urban flux—and they persuaded the property owner to unlock the gate. "We were looking for a space in transition," the director explains. "We just got lucky." They cleared away the trash (and some dead rats), leveled the ground, and put out the word via email. In late February, a curious audience squeezed in and the show began its three-performance run, with three young actresses prancing on wooden scaffolding under a bright moon. Dialogue swerved between English and Kannada, a local language. Film footage of Bangalore flashed on a side wall, and props ranged from hand-chimes to billowing black garbage bags.
