Pursuant to Section 892 of the Local Government Act, notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing of the proposed bylaws: BYLAW 2747: “Quadra Island Official Community Plan, 1996, Amendment Bylaw No. 9”; and BYLAW 2748: “Quadra Island Zoning Bylaw, 1990, Amendment Bylaw No. 74” WILL BE HELD IN: Room 3, Quadra Community Centre, 970 West Road, Quadra Island ON: WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15, 2005 COMMENCING AT: 7:30 p.m.

The owner of the subject property at 1111 Milton Road, (between Milton Road and Topcliffe Road), legally described as Lot 11, District Lot 201, Sayward District, Plan 30864, has applied to amend the ʻQuadra Island Official Community Planʼ and ʻQuadra Island Zoning Bylawʼ. The intent and purpose of the proposed Bylaw No. 2747 is to amend the ʻQuadra Island Official Community Planʼ by redesignating the eastern 1.5 hectares (3.7 acres) of the subject property to ʻResidentialʼ and the western 2.2 hectares (5.4 acres) to ʻRural Residentialʼ. See map to the right. The intent and purpose of proposed Bylaw No. 2748 is to amend the Quadra Island Zoning Bylaw by rezoning the eastern 1.5 hectares of the subject property to Rural Two (RU-2) and the western 2.2 hectares to Country Residential Two (CR-2). See the map to the right. A copy of the proposed Bylaws and related information may be inspected at the Regional District offices, 600 Comox Road, Courtenay, BC between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, between June 1 and June 15, 2005. In addition the proposed bylaws may be viewed on the Regional District website at www.rdcs.bc.ca. At the public hearing all persons who deem their interest in property affected by the proposed bylaws will be afforded an opportunity to be heard on matters contained therein. Please note that legal considerations prevent the Regional District from considering any representations made after the close Bylaw No. 2748 Bylaw No. 2747of the public hearing. If you cannot attend the Public Hearing, all written submissions (mailed or electronic) must be received by this office no later than 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 15, 2005.
