Moscow, 16.10.2017 OPEN FORUM IS LAUNCHED

The Open Innovations Forum – the premier event for technological entrepreneurs – is held in under the auspices of the Government of the Russian Federation for the sixth time. Open Innovations 2017 brings together over 18 thousand participants, 785 speakers, 180 sessions.

The Forum has started with the plenary session «A company in the digital era. Corporation or collaboration?»

Open Innovations Forum was opened by of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich: «Open Innovations – is real possibility for each participant of the Forum to establish necessary contacts and find investments. возможность для всех участников форума найти необходимые контакты и инвестиции. Viktor Vekselberg, President of the Skolkovo Fondation, highlighted in his welcoming address at the first plenary session of the Forum: «The Open Innovations Forum is the strong sounding event of the recent years. Since 2016 a number of participants have increased from 12000 to 18000. was and still is an attractive decision-making common ground for the world. Our country has a great potential, provides a wealth of opportunities and as prepared to be a competitive player in the global economic area. Besides, Open Innovations provides small and medium business opportunity to establish contacts and reach a new level».

Through the Forum there was held the panel discussion «Transform or die. The new lives of old industries», moderated by Pekka Viljakainen - the Senior Advisor to the President of Skolkovo. The participants agreed that only technologies can fundamentally change business: it is especially important for big companies, which have to modernize business-processes to stay afloat. Meanwhile the technologies should not be predominant interest, but should be the gateway to achieve goals. The business strategy should be based on fundamentals that never change. Only those who see their goals, ready to change, overcome fears and survive crises will save their business.

The key theme of this year is «Digital Economy. Global transformation challenges». The discussion will focus on corporations, the role of the state and the human being, Forum will consist of three thematic day-long sections: • Day 1 (16.10.2017) – CorpTech. DNA of the Corporation of the Future; • Day 2 (17.10.2017) – StateTech. Manifesto of the Digital State; • Day 3 (18.10.2017) – HumanTech. Tech for human & human for Tech.

Day 1 (CorpTech) is fully devoted to digital transformation of business and development of corporations of the future. Mere decades ago technological advancements such as full digitalization, robots and artificial intelligence could have been seen but in science-fiction films about the distant future. Yet today new technologies are becoming an integral part of daily life – tele- and mass communications, trade, medicine, finance and many other sectors are changing rapidly due to the new techs. Delegates of leading international corporations will demonstrate the most vivid examples of digital transformation, discuss the future main lines of technology development and its impact on business environment. Sessions not to be missed «War for medicine. Use of tech platforms in fight for global outpatient clinic». MBA – Express. Among lectors are Yan Xu, X Chan (HKUST), Evgeny Kaganer (IESE), Jonas Hedman (CopenhagenBusinessschool). Prominent Russian director, founder of BAZELEVS film company Timur Bekmambetov presents his new reality-show in supporting start-ups DREAM APP. Start-ups presentations will be in the form of short stylish video-pitches. «Guest investors» of the project will be Timur Bekmambetov itself, actor Emmanuil Vitorgan, singer Valeria and producer Joseph Prigozhin, designer Denis Simachev and other media persons. With an intriguing slogan «Transform or die» technological evangelists and futurists will share their insights and perspectives on which global giants will be knocked off the pedestals, if their business processes are not restructured in the near term in favor of digital transformation and new demands from market. HR specialists will address areas of expertise expected to be needed most and employees most urgently needed to staff technological company, development of the competences of existing employees, effective means of motivation and powerlevel of skills. Professors of world leading business schools will deliberate on training of future corporation management, while management experts will

share examples of the ways the digital transformation changes company structure, its corporate culture and even sometimes mission. The transformation of entertainment industry will be in the focus of experts, as well as the question how the relatively new discipline – eSport has already found millions of fans and continues to gain momentum across the world.
