Special thanks: To my Tomb of Annihilation group, for persisting through endless hours of trekking through dinosaur infested jungles at my side. Foreword Pretty much every kid likes dinosaurs, but I absolutely loved them, so when I was younger and I was flipping through the complete book of humanoids and saw an image of a dinosaur paladin It blew my mind. D&D and dino's, could there be anything better. I never actually got around to playing a saurial as a kid, but the image stuck with me in the back. As I turn a page a familiar face peeks out from the pages, a saurial, not just any saurial, but Dragonbait. Some weeks later my players encounter Dragonbait for the first time, and they seem Contacting the Author genuinely interested in the character and his kind. Sample file 1 by Oliver Clegg Sample file 2 WELCOME to the BEST NIGHT of your life Curse of Hearts is an adventure for casual play with your usual characters, with a high-chance of monsterification. In this adventure, characters are invited to Chateau Ravenloft to spend the night with the local Count – and dinner is not all that’s on the menu. The count has stabled a veritable horde of lonely hearts inside his spacious mansion, all of whom are looking to make connections, meet new people and spread the love. The adventurers, searching for a sign of their elusive host, have the chance to dismantle his emotional hold on his victims, and perhaps even forge some new bonds of their own in the process. This adventure doesn’t presume the characters are any particular level, though characters lower than level 3 are likely to find themselves choosing their words very carefully, and characters of 10th level or higher may find themselves with considerably more agency. ALWAYS PLAY SAFE Curse of Hearts is an adventure which gives you many opportu- nities to transform characters into monsters. It’s also romance genre satire, with lots of jokes to that effect. Before you go any further, read this adventure fully and check in with your players about boundaries and safety tools so that if anyone feels un- comfortable about the direction the game is going in, they can call it off. It can be fun to mock the idea of vampire romance, or transform into a hideous lich, but only if everyone is on board.

This netbook may be reproduced for personal use, but may not be used to generate revenue About Stu’s Ravenloft Campaign The version of Ravenloft presented in this campaign differs in a number of important ways from the world as published by TSR. In order to help the journal make more sense, I thought I should try to explain some of the more important aspects that have changed! As a result of the changes I've made, you should keep in mind that information mentioned in the Journal will often conflict with the published Ravenloft material. In (hopefully) all cases, this is not a result of ignorance on my part, but the result of an active decision to do something differently from the "Canon" version of Ravenloft. The major things to note are listed below: The Time Period: The period of history that the domains of Ravenloft are based on vary enormously, and hence the levels of technology vary considerably. As a rough rule of thumb, most domains in this version of Ravenloft are somewhere between the Renaissance and early 19th Century (with some, such as Falkovnia, being more primative). This means that firearms are available in a number of domains (Mordent, Dementlieu, and Lamordia for example), which are all taken from the Mighty Fortress sourcebook.

We occasionally forget the fact that the Fsophisticated culture of mummies could be found all across the world, from the Nile Valley in Egypt, the snow-capped peaks of Peru, the gargantuan tombs of China, the Capuchin catacombs of Italy and the peat bogs of Denmark. I personally live not more than thirty kilometers from a mummy cave—not uncommon for one who was born in a culture that venerates the dead and gives them the hope of a perpetual afterlife that mirrors their living years. The Igorot ethnic group is one such culture, and it is one which I am proud to be a part of; it is I believe the only mummy-venerating culture in Southeast Asia.
