SEPTA UPDATES AND SERVICE INFORMATION Regional Rail Service to Increase to Hourly Service Starting Monday, June 29 Travel Toolkit for Businesses and Employees Information in this Update Regional Rail Service Increases to Hourly Service Beginning Monday, June 29 Business and Employee Travel Toolkit SEPTA Operating Status Effective Sunday, June 28 Regional Rail Service Frequency Will increase to Hourly Service Beginning Monday, June 29 With most of the region preparing to enter the Green Phase of reopening this weekend, SEPTA will increase service frequency on Regional Rail and restore service to all Market-Frankford Line, Broad Street Line and Trolley stations. These service enhancements are being implemented as part of SEPTA’s phased return-to-service plan. SEPTA’s measured approach to restoring service -- beginning with the resumption of normal transit service on May 17th -- has allowed SEPTA to add capacity in response to the region’s changing travel needs while preparing for eventual increases in ridership. Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, SEPTA service has been driven by employee and customer safety. As travel restrictions are lifted, and more customers return to SEPTA’s buses, trains and trolleys, our return-to-service plan remains focused on those same priorities. REGIONAL RAIL FREQUENCY INCREASES TO HOURLY SERVICE Beginning on Monday, June 29, Regional Rail will increase to hourly service on most lines, with Paoli/Thorndale and the Airport Line operating every 30 minutes throughout the day. The Chestnut Hill West Line will remain suspended to accommodate track and right-of-way improvements, and service on the Cynwyd Line will also remain suspended until further notice. -

Contact: Kelly Greene Public Information Manager SEPTA Announces New Regional Rail Schedules Effective Sunday, January 24; Wilmington/Newark Line Extended PHILADELPHIA (January 20, 2021) – SEPTA is advising customers that some changes are being made to select Regional Rail schedules starting next week. These uPdates will imPact the Chestnut Hill East, Fox Chase, Lansdale/Doylestown, Manayunk/Norristown, Trenton, and Wilmington/Newark Lines. New timetables will go into effect on Sunday, January 24, 2021. Below are some highlights of the upcoming service adjustments: • Wilmington/Newark o SEPTA will reintroduce service to Churchman’s Crossing Station and Newark Station beginning on Monday, January 25, 2021. These train extensions are sponsored by the state of Delaware and will provide public transit options during the closure and reconstruction of Interstate 95 between February 2021 and calendar year 2023. Restore the Corridor Wilmington is a significant DelDOT transportation project along the I-95 corridor in Wilmington that will make the repairs needed to extend highway and bridge life for an additional 30 years. • Manayunk/Norristown o Some trains on the Manayunk/Norristown Line will be cancelled or depart earlier or later than normal due to the following projects: § High level station Platform construction work will continue at Conshohocken Station as part of the Conshohocken Station Improvement Program. This project includes the construction of a new, fully ADA accessible station with additional parking, bike facilities, and passenger shelters. § Construction work for the Norristown Slope Stabilization Project will begin between Miquon Station and Spring Mill Station. This project will help prevent substantial erosion and track washouts, which can cause service delays and/or suspensions. -

Carper and Boardman: As members of the Amtrak Northeast Corridor (NEC) Infrastructure Master Plan Policy Group, the twelve northeast states and the District of Columbia have worked cooperatively and collaboratively with Amtrak and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) to develop and review the Amtrak Northeast Corridor Railroad Infrastructure Master Plan (Master Plan). Started in 2007 and refined over three years, the Master Plan is a first. It is the first passenger rail infrastructure plan to incorporate a regional, corridor-wide perspective of the NEC Main Line and all its feeder lines. It is the first planning process to involve all the northeast states and the District of Columbia with Amtrak. It is the first to consider the plans and infrastructure needs of all the NEC users – intercity, commuter and freight. This foundational document identifies an initial baseline of infrastructure improve ments needed to maintain the current NEC system in a state of good repair; integrate intercity, commuter and freight service plans; and move the NEC forward to meet the expanded service, reliability, frequency, and trip time improvements that are envisioned by the northeast states and the District. Therefore, we are pleased to endorse the collaborative planning process and Amtrak’s Infrastructure Master Plan Final Report. The Master Plan is the first in a series of planning activities that must be undertaken if an expanded NEC – as part of an integrated, intermodal regional transportation system – is to support future economic growth and environmental and energy goals.
