Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2020). Discretionary places admission criteria: Rank Order List of the EDB and internal assessment results of the primary school - 40%; Conduct and Teacher's Comments - 30%; Performances in extra-curricular activities and social services - 20%; Interview performance - 10%. Orientation Activities and Healthy Life After registration, new S.1 students will join a series of activities (New S.1 Student Bridging Course and Orientation), which is comprised of the New S.1 Student Induction Week in mid-July, the Bridging Course and Interest Classes, and the New S.1 Student Guidance Week in late-August. The aims of the activities are to help new S.1 students more easily adapt to secondary school life and develop a stronger sense of belonging. The activities include discipline training, outdoor learning activities, team building, learning more about different cultures, Chinese, English and Mathematics foundation courses, skills training, interest classes, etc. We care about the health of our students. We inculcate students with a healthy lifestyle and balanced diet through subject activities and curricula. The Moral and Civic Education Team holds talks on health. Subjects like Integrated Humanities, Life and Society, Integrated Science, Home Economics and Physical Education have a school-based curriculum designed to enhance students’ awareness of living a good healthy life. We have a Food Supervising Team which meets with the food supplier on a regular basis to monitor the safety and hygiene of the food. 伯特利中學 Bethel High School School Characteristics School Management School's Major Concerns: 1. The School Administrative Committee is comprised of experienced teachers to manage the school. 2. Additional committees were established to supervise teaching and learning, staff development, student growth and development, religious affairs, resource management, etc. Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee: Incorporated Management Committee (IMC): The Incorporated Management Committee aims at assisting the school to provide a high-quality education, building a devoted team and forming shared beliefs. It adopts an open-minded attitude giving the school adequate rooms for development. Members of the IMC are professionals of various sectors possessing rich experiences, which enhances its representativeness and its role of supervision. School Green Policy: Our school has won the Sustainable Development Participation Award for three consecutive years in recognition of our efforts put into environmental protection. The school is planted with greenery, providing a natural, green and serene environment for learning. Learning and Teaching Plan Whole-school Language Policy: Our school places emphasis on bi-literacy and tri-lingualism. We improve our students' listening and speaking skills in Chinese, English and Putonghua through the Multi-media Learning Centre and our NET teacher. We have also created an English-rich learning environment for our students through holding English Week, English Morning Assemblies, and organising English activities in English Corner. Learning and Teaching Strategies: The school renovates and updates classroom facilities regularly to provide students with a better learning environment. The subject curriculum is up to date and is consistent with the education reform. The teaching mode is student-oriented. Apart from the academic perspective, we also provide various kinds of activities to widen students’ horizons. Our school can utilize resources to cater for students' learning diversity. In the junior forms, we provide adaptation for the curriculum. In the senior forms, we provide a balanced and diverse curriculum for students to choose according to their interests and abilities. Students can also choose Applied Learning subjects to explore their career aspirations. 2. Curriculum highlights: We provide Urdu and Nepali classes for non-Chinese speaking students. Our school offers a variety of subjects such as Design and
