Subsequently, GS Energy assumed the high growth businesses previously operated by GS Caltex including, exploration & production and renewable energy operations. Further, by acquiring GS Caltex’s electric & gas utilities operations, GS Energy has solidified its position as an integrated energy-specialized holding company. Value chain integration and operational agility are fundamental to GS Energy’s long term growth strategy. GS Energy is organized into four interrelated segments: Exploration & Production, Refining & Petrochemicals, Gas & Power and Green Growth. Our integrated business model allows us to capture synergies among our different segments and activities. Our upstream businesses include the development of oil & gas projects across the globe, from the Middle East to the Americas and Southeast Asia. Our Yeosu Complex, the world’s third largest oil refinery at a single site, has the largest upgrading capacity in Korea, allowing us to enjoy significant economies of scale. GS Caltex exports more than 50 percent of its products overseas and supplies more than 30 percent of domestic oil consumption. Petrochemicals GS Caltex entered the aromatic business in 1990, and has since made timely investments in the petrochemical business, currently manufacturing over 2.8 million tonnes of aromatics a year and 1.35 million tonnes of paraxylene. Our polypropylene plant was constructed in 1988 and with a production capacity of 180,000 million tonnes per year. Further, GS Caltex has expanded its business to include polypropylene (PP) and composite resin (PP compound), now running two composite resin plants in China and one composite resin plant in the Czech Republic. Base Oil & Lubricants GS Caltex began its base oil production in 2007, and has since increased production capacity to 26,000 barrels per day, exporting more than 70 percent of its base oil products across the world. GS Caltex also produces 9,000 barrels of lubricants and 8,000 tonnes of grease products per day. GS Caltex is recognized for its top- class product quality and technology as demonstrated by its leading market share and sales in the domestic market. All RIGHTS RESERVED 06 Gas & Electric Power Every day we meet consumer demand for gas and electricity Through effective risk management and strategic investments, our goal is to integrate our LNG activities with our existing electric power & gas industrial base Given the trend towards liberalization in natural gas markets and the recent volatility of the LNG trade, GS Energy has increased its involvement across the LNG value chain in order to provide further flexibility in our operations, minimize unit costs and maximize the value of our ongoing LNG projects. Subsequent to the Korean government’s initiative to privatize state-owned-enterprises in the Korean energy sector, GS Power acquired cogeneration (co-gen) power plants of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and the district cooling and heating facilities of the Korea District Heating Corporation (KDHC) Electric Power Business GS Power produces 900 MW of electric power and heat through its operation of co-gen power plants in Anyang and Bucheon. GS Power contributes to stabilizing the electric power supply in these metropolitan areas and supplies district heating and cooling to approximately 300,000 households. CMCC-CM, INM-CM4, and IPSL-CM5A-MR RCP 4.5 and 8.5 scenarios were selected as the future dry conditions using Runs theory and Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI). For historical (1980–1999), present (2000–2019), and future periods (2030s, 2050s, 2070s, and 2090s) of the 6 scenarios, SWAT model was used to simulate the future dam water supply stability. The stability was evaluated in terms of reliability (RT), resilience (RS), and vulnerability (V) based on the monthly target storage. The results showed that the future RT can be decreased to 0.803 in 2050s IPSL-CM5A-MR RCP 8.5 scenario from present 0.955. The future RS and V showed the minimum value of 0.003 and the biggest value of 3567.6 106 m3 in 2070s IPSL-CM5A-MR RCP 4.5 scenario.

    894 Lunar New Year The lunar New Year, known as 561, W6ndan, W6ni! or Cbongch '0, is one of the most important holidays in Korea. During this holiday, there are traffic jams throughout the country as people rush to see their family and relatives. On the morning of Lunar New Year, people don traditional dress (hanbok). Various foods and wine are prepared, and then set in front of an ancestral tablet. The table is meticulously arranged according to Confucian tradition; however, many families also have their own traditions governing details of the arrangement. In general, fish is put on the east, meat on the west, fruit in front, rice and soup behind and liquor on the front table. A ceremony is then held during which the male family members pay respect to their deceased ancestors up to the fourth generation by making three full bows. Family members also visit the graves of their deceased ancestors. On this holiday, after cutting the grass from around the grave, they make a simple offering and then bow three times. In addition to paying respect to the deceased, each family member is expected to make two formal bows to his or her elders. According to custom, the elders then give the person a gift of money, particularly if the person is a child. Special foods are prepared for this holiday. In particular, rice-cake soup is typically served instead ofrice. For this reason, the question 'How many bowls of rice-cake soup have you eaten?' is sometimes used to ask one's age. In North Korea and China, mandu (dumpling) soup is often eaten instead.

In this study, we propose urban disaster prevention plans based on the classification and characterization of flood vulnerable areas reflecting demographic changes. Data on the property damage, casualties, and flooded area between 2009 and 2018 in 229 municipalities in South Korea were collected and analyzed, and 74 flood vulnerable areas were selected. The demographic change in the selected areas from 2000 to 2018 was examined through comparative analyses of the population size, rate of population change, and population change proportion by age group and gender. Flood vulnerable areas were categorized into three types through K-mean cluster analysis. Based on the analysis results, a strategic plan was proposed to provide information necessary for establishing regional flood-countermeasure policies.
