3 WELCOME - FROM THE EVENT DIRECTOR AND CLERK-OF-COURSE Welcome to the second running of the Adelaide Hills Rally which is promoted by Ultimate Events. Once again, the aim of this year’s event is to bring “Rally” back to the public. To do this we have located the Service Park in the centre of Mt Barker at the local Showgrounds/Main Oval. This year the service park will be on the oval so we can light up the service park on Saturday night after the Super Special Stage. We have again partnered with Hills Radio 88.9FM to broadcast from the scrutineering/ceremonial start and from the service park. We hope that crews will be generous with their time.

This year we have added a Ceremonial Start to the Street Party on the Thursday night. We are closing off the entire main street of Mt Barker to host the promotional scrutineering/ceremonial start at 6pm. ARC crews will be in attendance for scrutineering and then park their cars for the public to browse. Drivers will be available to sign posters at the drivers signing sessions at allocated times. The Ceremonial Start will then begin at 8pm. This year the local SARC/Clubman and Intro competitors will have their scrutineering day on Sunday 15th September at the RAA on Richmond Road Mile End, but are still required to attend the Street Party and Ceremonial start on the Thursday evening.

This year the Super Special Stage has been moved to the Saturday evening so it is more accessible for the general public to come and enjoy. Once again, two cars will be match raced against each other twice to see who will finish on the top step for Heat 1 of the AHR. There is the addition of a separate AHR Stadium Rallysprint event at the Super Special Stage venue this year were competition will start from 5pm. Competitors will get one run before the ARC/SARC crews arrive, then one run between the 2 Super Special Stages and then 2 runs after the ARC/SARC competitors have finished.

General Admission and Corporate tickets to the Super Special Stage on the Saturday evening can be bought at Outix, www.outix.com.au

Saturday we also have 2 new stages that we are very excited about along with some revamped stages on Sunday and the return of an old favourite. We think the roads this year are even more challenging and exciting than last year and we hope you enjoy them as much as we have selecting them. Sunday we are lucky enough to run the Mawson Row stage again twice, (reverse direction this year) and spectators are encouraged to spectate from Anderson Hill Winery where brunch and then lunch will be supplied in the ticket price of $60 a head. The Anderson family has once again thrown open their winery for us to use as a spectacular place to enjoy the rally from. Great food and wine and a lot of rally action is the order of the day with live music and guest speakers.

Tickets for the Anderson Hill Winery experience can be bought at Outix, www.outix.com.au

Have a wonderful and successful event and please stay safe and well.

36 S.A.’s RALLYING CAR CLUBS South Eastern Automobile Club (S.E.A.C.) is the premier motor sports club in the South East of South Australia. Located in Mount Gambier, we regularly conduct Trials, Motorkhana, Khanacross, Autocross and other events up to Australian Championship level. The club has a strong membership, and owns its own private Autocross track which is regularly used for competition and training days. SEAC welcomes new members from any discipline of motor sport or simply those interested in becoming involved in the club in any capacity. The South Eastern Automobile Club proudly owns and manages its own CAMS sanctioned Autocross facility, affectionately named SEAC Park. Located to the west of Mount Gambier, the property is an excellent venue for driver training, competition days and social events. SEAC regularly conducts working bees to keep the various tracks and land in top condition. During the late 80’s and early 90’s the club decided that it would be interested in purchasing some land for the purpose of holding club events. The land that was used for racing on at the time was becoming harder to manage and so the hunt was on for a suitable site that was not too far from Mount Gambier, was varied and interesting in topography and was at the right price. After looking at a few locations, a former quarry site was selected on Megaw Rd, west of town. The land was soon purchased and SEAC Park was born. The club also organises the annual Legend of the Lakes Hillclimb. www.seacsa.com

SOUTHERN DISTRICTS CAR CLUB The Southern Districts Car Club (SDCC) has been established since 1966. We are involved in a variety of motor sport disciplines and welcome all walks of life. We promote and encourage activities between club members while fostering courtesy, friendship and responsibility on public roads. The club is open to all age groups and car makes, with competition starting at 12yrs of age for Motorkhana and Khanacross. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or a National Champion everyone is welcome. SDCC promote and run a variety of events, ranging from Motorkhana to Khanacross, Autocross, Hillclimbs, Rallysprint and Rally. We also have a range of social events throughout the year that are advertised in our monthly magazine the “Southern Comfort”. In 2013 SDCC purchased the MID MURRAY MOTORPLEX (MMM), 400 acres situated 20km west of Walker Flat. With the tracks and infrastructure well under way, this year will see continual improvement of the tracks General meetings are held at 8.15pm on the second Wednesday of each month at the Colonel Light Gardens RSL, 3 Prince George Parade Colonel Light Gardens. If you’re interested in motor sport then come along to the next meeting or even better come to an event at our new track. You will find the members very friendly and more than willing to answer any questions you have or help out if you come to race! SDCC welcomes new members, and spectators are free to come and enjoy Khanacross one of the fastest growing, cheaper motor sport events available. Road cars are welcome and you can enter up to 4 drivers in the same car. So get your mates together and buy a cheapie, add a fire extinguisher and mudflaps then have some fun on the track. www.sdcc.asn.au
