Once again, the aim of this year’s event is to bring “Rally” back to the public. To do this we have located the Service Park in the centre of Mt Barker at the local Showgrounds/Main Oval. This year the service park will be on the oval so we can light up the service park on Saturday night after the Super Special Stage. We have again partnered with Hills Radio 88.9FM to broadcast from the scrutineering/ceremonial start and from the service park. We hope that crews will be generous with their time. This year we have added a Ceremonial Start to the Street Party on the Thursday night. We are closing off the entire main street of Mt Barker to host the promotional scrutineering/ceremonial start at 6pm. ARC crews will be in attendance for scrutineering and then park their cars for the public to browse. Drivers will be available to sign posters at the drivers signing sessions at allocated times. The Ceremonial Start will then begin at 8pm. This year the local SARC/Clubman and Intro competitors will have their scrutineering day on Sunday 15th September at the RAA on Richmond Road Mile End, but are still required to attend the Street Party and Ceremonial start on the Thursday evening. This year the Super Special Stage has been moved to the Saturday evening so it is more accessible for the general public to come and enjoy. Once again, two cars will be match raced against each other twice to see who will finish on the top step for Heat 1 of the AHR. There is the addition of a separate AHR Stadium Rallysprint event at the Super Special Stage venue this year were competition will start from 5pm. Competitors will get one run before the ARC/SARC crews arrive, then one run between the 2 Super Special Stages and then 2 runs after the ARC/SARC competitors have finished. General Admission and Corporate tickets to the Super Special Stage on the Saturday evening can be bought at Outix, www.outix.com.au Saturday we also have 2 new stages that we are very excited about along with some revamped stages on Sunday and the return of an old favourite. We think the roads this year are even more challenging and exciting than last year and we hope you enjoy them as much as we have selecting them. Sunday we are lucky enough to run the Mawson Row stage again twice, (reverse direction this year) and spectators are encouraged to spectate from Anderson Hill Winery where brunch and then lunch will be supplied in the ticket price of $60 a head. The Anderson family has once again thrown open their winery for us to use as a spectacular place to enjoy the rally from. Great food and wine and a lot of rally action is the order of the day with live music and guest speakers. Tickets for the Anderson Hill Winery experience can be bought at Outix, www.outix.com.au Have a wonderful and successful event and please stay safe and well. Andrew Admiraal, Michael Clements, Event Director Clerk-of-Course Event information will be updated regularly on the website at www.rallysa.net.au and our website at www.ume.cool and on social media at www.facebook.com/adelaidehillsrally 4 PUBLIC SCRUTINEERING Gawler Street, Mount Barker will be the site for scrutineering for the BOTT Adelaide Hills Rally, the fifth and penultimate round of the 2019 CAMS Australian Rally Championship, and third and final round of the MRF Tyres South Australian Rally Championship. • KCF Month …..Get Your Entries In…
Brisport October 2018 KCF Month …..get your entries in…. What’s in this month’s edition? • Another great read – we hope! • How about sending us a story or two! Brisport October 2018 PRESIDENTS REPORT OCTOBER 2018 Another major month has just passed for BSCC in the seemingly heavily loaded back end of the year. Just the way the cookie has crumbled this year what with weather, other events that both did happen or where meant to happen and availability of people. Which is not to say there is not still much more to come, so a big finish beckons. September of course saw the running of the biggest event in the BSCC and perhaps Queensland Rallying Calendar with the running of the SR Automotive Manumbar Rally. It was a major test of crews and cars covering the year’s longest competitive distance across some of the great roads available in South East Queensland. It was a pretty full on day starting early and finishing as the sun faded over another terrific day of hot competition. A full report follows in the magazine but I must make a special thanks to Simon and Margot Knowles, Brad Hurford (plus Kelli, Rachel & Chloe), Margaret MacKay and the extensive team who continue to put this event together. It was interesting to hear of the developing mystique around this event, drawing as it does on some of the more senior competitors and officials’ fond memories of the Gallangowan event days. But also to realise that it is ever changing and evolving with the support of the local community and lots and lots of hard work to unearth and bring on new roads and challenges.

I’m really happy I had the chance to do this Championship.” Jan Kopecký (Czech Republic) 2014 APRC Champion and 2013 European Rally Champion. In 2015 six events make-up the championship starting in New Zealand with the fast and smooth roads at Rally of Whangarei. A month later is the tropical island paradise and rough roads of New Caledonia followed by Australia’s Sunshine Coast and the International Rally of Queensland. The APRC then heads to Asia to the very hot and humid Malaysian Rally based in Johor Bahru. Japan is next and the fast forestry and public roads of Rally Hokkaido, followed by the championship finale in the bamboo forests and mountains of Zhejiang province, China. In 2015 India will host an ‘Asia Cup only’ event, with a view to having full status in the future. Registered competitors can score points for the drivers, teams and manufacturers championships in the six rounds (not including India) and must enter a minimum of five events to qualify. Alternatively if an APRC registered Team nominates to run a vehicle in all events then multiple drivers can enter one-off events with that team and score APRC drivers points. This year we have a strong board with some new faces and some old. I believe it will be a good mix which will give us fresh ideas and good direc- tion for our future. The first half of this year has been very sparse for events but we are heading into a very busy second half which kicks off with KCF 2 at the end of this month, so please put your hands up to help our busy teams organising our events. I am sure you have all heard about the CAMS organisational review. The board de- cided not to vote in favour of this document in its current form and put a letter to State Council informing them of this. We were not the only ones concerned about this and many other clubs did like wise, at a special State Council meeting it was decided unanimously not to accept this proposal and a letter was sent to the board of CAMS to inform them of this. Now we wait for the board to come back to us with the options.
