Strategic Context 2.1 Senior Leadership Changes 2.1.1 Departure of Chris Adcock It was announced in November 2020 that Chris Adcock, Chief Finance Officer would be leaving the Sussex CCGs and Integrated Care System in February 2021. Chris and his family will be relocating to Lancashire and Chris has been successful in being appointed as the Director of Finance at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. This is a great move for Chris and we would like to thank him for his support to our CCGs and Integrated Care System (ICS) over a very turbulent period as we responded to Covid-19. Although Chris will not be continuing with us on our improvement journey in our Sussex system, I personally would like to thank Chris for his immense support to me during his tenure and would like to wish him and his family the very best in their new adventure to Lancashire. 2.1.2 Appointment of Jim Hayburn It was announced in December 2020 that Jim Hayburn would join Sussex NHS Commissioners from 4 January 2021 as our new CCG Chief Finance Officer on a 12-month fixed term agreement. Jim was appointed following an interview process with a number of internal and external stakeholders. Jim is accountable for the CCG financial management, as well as taking on the lead role for the ICS Finance Directors group. Jim has previously held the positions of Chief Officer, Director of System Resources and Chief Financial Officer at a number of CCGs across the country and it is no doubt that Sussex CCGs will benefit from Jim’s extensive experience of working in very senior roles across both commissioning and provider NHS organisations. 2.1.3 Leadership Changes You will appreciate what a crucial period this is for our system as we manage significant pressures while also delivering the Covid-19 vaccination programme. We all recognise what a challenge this is and in order to ensure that the CCGs could continue to support the system in the best possible way, as well as meet their statutory duties, a number of further changes were made to the functions and responsibilities of the Executive Team.
