TREASURE HUNT IN OHRID

We take you on an adventure to experience the of the city of Ohrid - one of the oldest towns in Europe and the center of ancient and medieval civilization in the Balkans. It is where the first Slavic university in Europe was founded and is the center of Orthodox culture and literacy. Orhid is on the banks of one of Europe’s deepest and oldest lakes!

With its unique flora and fauna from the tertiary period (2-4 million years ago), Lake Ohrid is one of the largest biological reserves in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage region.

10:00 Treasure hunt in Ohrid From a certain point in Ohrid the teams start toward different destinations and the participants take up each location that lead them to the next riddle and task, all the way until they reach the final destination of the treasure. With each arrival to a certain destination the time is being stopped and the participants are introduced with the significance and the history of the location.

Sights and activities for the Treasure Hunt Intriguing leads await you on the exciting journey towards the - mysterious maps, coded messages, legends and various tasks. This treasure hunt will be intertwined with Ohrid’s most interesting sites and historical stories: • Workshop for handmade paper • Painting an icon • Procession of Dionysus and the maenads • Archery with medieval bow and arrow • Ancient mosaic puzzle • Row boat and message in a bottle

13:00 Lunch at a traditional restaurant The specialties of our national cuisine, local wines and the sounds of the traditional Macedonian music, offers enjoyment for all the senses. You will have the opportunity to enjoy your Macedonian dishes accompanied by presentation of the recipes thus being able to prepare them at your own home. (Macedonian Salad, traditional appetizers, Macedonian trout, baklava)
