The Meadoway Guiding Principles The six overarching guiding principles are the core elements of the vision for The Meadoway. They will guide the Class EA, engagement activities, and restoration for the hydro corridor. BLUEPRINT FOR REVITALIZATION CONNECTIONS COMMUNITY & PUBLIC REALM NATURAL ENVIRONMENT & EDUCATION TRANSPORTATION RECREATION N Existing Conditions Transportation Public transit within the Regional and Local Study Area is provided by TTC Bus Service and Subway Line 3, GO Transit (Stouffville), and VIA Rail. In addition, a number of large transportation planning initiatives are being planned for the area and will intersect with The Meadoway, including the Eglinton LRT, the Eglinton East LRT, the Stouffville GO Expansion, and the Scarborough Subway Extension. The Meadoway aligns with the City of Toronto’s TransformTO Climate Action Strategy through the development and improvement of active transportation networks, providing greater access to alternative commuting modes and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
