FORMAT: 10 x 12 - board matches Butler (IMPs-scored) Pairs SWISS DRAW: Winners play winners, and losers play losers progressively. An immediate draw will operate.
Pairs should play opponents (more or less) around their own standard on most rounds. All pairs therefore have chances of winning a substantial number of matches - and Gold Master Points.
It is anticipated play will finish by 5.40pm on Sunday. Drinks will be served at a short trophy presentation ceremony immediately after the final session. VENUE: The Derwent Rooms Wrest Point Hotel Casino 410 Sandy Bay Road, Sandy Bay

All ABF events are subject to the ABF Systems Regulations as revised to 1st May, 1998: a copy is available on application to the Convenor, 1999 Australian Swiss Pairs.
Systems permitted in the Australian Swiss Pairs Championship are GREEN, BLUE or RED. Pairs in any doubt about the classification of their system, should submit details in advance to the Convenor. RED systems (Highly Unusual Conventions) are permitted subject to full disclosure and compliance with the "protected pair" regulation.
Written defences to RED Conventions are permitted at the table. ***
