Hazard perception • identifies hazards in the riding environment. Speed control • uses the throttle, brakes, clutch and gears smoothly • chooses and maintains a consistent and appropriate speed. Steering • steers smoothly and accurately • maintains good riding posture and balance • keeps both hands on the hand grips when possible • keeps both feet on the pegs while riding • stops with the front wheel straight. Space margins • keeps appropriate space margins in front and on both sides • chooses safe lane positions • stops accurately.
