Lloyd George, 10 Downing Street, Whitehall, S.W., encouraging farmers to make extra efforts with the sowing of crops. The war has now reached a crisis and the "heroism of our armies must be backed by the self-sacrifice and tireless labour of everyone at home'. Food pro ducti on is of the utmost importance and the work of the next few weeks must decide the harvest of the year. COVERING LETTER (20 May 1973): Jessie R. Richardson, 6 St. Fagans House, Sea View Court, Bradford Place, Penarth, Glam. to Mrs. Pierce enclosing letter as above. The letter was given to her to pass along to the Museum by Mrs. Vivian Peters en, 48 Woolford Rd., Wrentham, Massachusetts 02093, U.S.A. who found it among her family papers. 22. 1926 Nov. 17 LETTER: D. Lloyd George, 25 Old Queen St., Westminster, London S.W.I. to Major Fred C. Stern, re Harold Pearson and the attacks against Lloyd George and his friends in the Westminster Gazette despite Lloyd George'8 fulfilling the under takings re Liberal Unity and his fund made to Pearson through Stern. Lloyd George has taken no retaliatory action against the reputations even of the 12 who tried to banish him from the Party. But 'unless they are prepared to play the game, it is far better that we should each of us go our own way and appeal to our own public ... this thing has got to stop.1 23/1-2 1931 Nov. 12 LETTERS; D.
