For example, all visitors to the territory must secure a 30-day permit before entering and only the Attorney General or his designee is authorized to approve such permits The memo details what’s needed from the visitor or sponsor: valid passport or travel document; police clearance and health clearance from the country of origin; local clear- ance from the High Court, ASDHS, and LBJ Medical Center; round-trip or onward ticket; sponsor; $40 required fee; and application for permit must be submitted to the AG’s Offi ce no later than 30-days C M before travel. These require- ments do not apply to U.S. Y K nationals, U.S citizens, and legal residents of American Samoa seeking entry. Additionally, the require- ments do not apply to citizens from Samoa seeking entry as they may continue to apply for a 7-day permit, 14-day permit or 30-day permit; however, the AG or his designee must also approve these permits. The requirements do not apply to immigrants transiting through American Samoa, as long as the person departs within 24-hours of arrival. Also exempted from the entry requirements are citizens of countries listed in the EPWC program and citizens of these countries are not required to secure an entry permit before Page 8 samoa news, Thursday, September 21, 2017 ➧ Suiga a le Senate… Mai itulau 1

DIOCESE SAMOA PAGO PAGO HOPE HOUSE CARE FOR THE ELDERLY FATUOAIGA PO BOX 596 PAGO PAGO AMERICAN SAMOA 96799 TEL: (684) 699-2101/2102 Dear Brothers & Sisters,

May the grace and peace of our Lord be with you.

This year marks the 30th Jubilee of the Nazareth House now renamed Hope House since its dedication in January 1987. Hope House is the only home-care facility of its kind in our Territory, for the elderly patients, terminally ill and children with severe disabilities without regard for their denomination of faith. As part of the 30th Jubilee program, the Hope House board has organized a week of events beginning with a Mass of Thanksgiving on Sunday, September 24th at 4:00 pm. There will also be a Fiafia Night program for our residents on the evening of Monday, September 25th at 6:00 pm at the Fatuoaiga Malae. Concluding the week long celebrations will be our annual fundraising golf tournament and raffle on September 30th, 2017 to raise the needed funds that help maintain Hope House. We would be honored and look forward to your participation and support of Hope House 30th Jubilee celebrations. Please contact the following organizing committee members if you have any questions: Larry Sanitoa @ 733-3501, Ta’afano Joe Tavale @ 256-0362 or Teri Steffany @ 258-2981.
